How To Make Your Twittering Machine More Fantastic Today

Has your Twitterness gone stale? Is your Twitter account not doing much for you or your business lately? Furthermore, have you even logged in lately? Maybe you need to increase your Twittering machine under Elon Musk.

You may have noticed your followers haven’t really increased much and your Twitter stats are nothing to write home about. I see it with many tweeps including myself a few weeks ago.

It’s time for you to make some changes. It’s not too late to UP your Twitterness X factor.

Ways to increase your Twitterness and grow on Twitter.

10 Ways to Increase Your Twitter X Visibility

1. Increase Your Twittering Machine Posts

Yes, tweet more! If you are starting to get more followers it’s time for you to tweet more often. You can use MissingLettr to manage this easily and on schedule. They mix up the tweets for you from your blog RSS feed.

Not only that but you can have several different images to make your tweets look different throughout the schedule.

No one wants to see 10 tweets from you at a time. It’s too overwhelming. But it is okay to tweet every hour.

If you only have a few hundred followers and you tweet too much you will know it. People will start to unfollow you. You will notice the follower decrease. But as your number of followers grows into the thousands do tweet MORE.

Just be sure they are still quality tweets! Most of all, don’t tweet when you are tired or cranky. Lastly, do not only post with links, linkless posts are ruling now on the X network.

2. Follow More People

Do follow those people that are relative to your Twitter niche. Don’t be afraid to follow a few new folks a day. (Start with 3-5 new people.) Try to get to know them too.

Therefore read their Twitter bios and engage with them on the network and you will increase your Twitterness factor.

3. Update Your Twitter Bio Twitterness Factor

Your Twitter Bio, image, and cover photo should be updated regularly. Make sure it’s a real picture of you and recent. (at least in this decade.)

Include something personal about yourself in your Twitter profile.

Be sure to include your location to make your profile more authentic. People love to know where other people are from. You may be surprised how many people you may be in common with by location.

4. Automate More for Twittering Machine

I’m not a big fan of automation but using Agorapulse, The Buffer,  Missing Lettr, Fedica, and IFTT can make a big difference for you. Just be sure to set notifications to ON when someone tweets you so you can respond in a timely manner.

Engagement and providing customer service are not something you can automate. However, with the right tools you can do it from a dashboard.

5. Engage More To Increase Twitterness

This one is the major key. Engagement on Twitter is key. You will not grow your following – no matter how many you try to buy, etc, without engaging! You can use emojis in your tweets when engaging with others.

More than 90 percent of people who use the internet rely on emojis, according to a paper, published in the journal Trends in Cognitive Sciences.

Below is an example of a highly engaged tweet that discusses the use of social buttons on blogs today.

6. Up Twitterness With More Images

Images really do UP your Twitterness. You can do this with your own images, make them at Canva or use GIF images that you can pick right from Twitter.

Twitter now has a great selection of GIFS for you to choose from. You can also use the Twitter Stickers on your own photos to give them some extra zing!

Furthermore, you can get very creative with Twitter stickers to market your business. Boost your twittering machine with video content as well.

7. Check Your Twitter Analytics

Twitter now has great analytics now that you can look at to see what is working for you and what is not. This will help you improve your Twitterness by looking at them monthly. You can see which tweets got the most re-tweets and which ones got the most engagement.

These analytics can also compare your audience to the general Twitter audience. I’ve learned my followers are not interested in entertainment as much as the mass Twitter audience is but they like business, tech, and politics.

Think about how this could help you tweet better and share content that your audience craves. This knowledge from your Twitter Analytics can up your Twitterness quickly. Go to your creator studio to find your Twitter analytics.

(You now need a subscription to see them on X.)

8. Use Some Twitter Tools

There are hundreds if not thousands of Twitter tools out there to help you with Twitter. Some help you to find other like-minded Twitter folks, and others help you see who unfollowed you or followed you.

Just be careful not to use too much automation. A little automation is necessary once you grow your following. There is no way you could keep up with thousands of followers.

That’s why those old Twitter lists come in so darn handy!

9. Be Yourself

Be authentic on Twitter and people will get to know you. If you have an egghead still as a profile it won’t get you far. People will not want to follow or engage with you. They do want to see who you are.

Occasionally add a personal tweet to your feed so they can better understand who you are.

10. Join Twitter Chats To Up Your Twittering Machine

Engaging on Twitter chats can be fun and also a great way to network.  Twitter chats can help you get to know others better on the Twitter network and also get introduced to others with the same interests as you. They can be fast and really fun to do.

Take it a step further and host your own Twitter chat. Announce it on your blog and tweet about it a few days prior so others will join in on the chat.

Showcase it with a hashtag. Make it fun and informative for your audience as you boost your Twittering machine.

Join Audio X Spaces

Joining Twitter X spaces allows you to engage with others who share your interests and goals. By participating in these spaces, you can connect with like-minded individuals, gain valuable insights, and expand your network.

Engaging with others in these spaces can lead to potential collaborations, partnerships, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Connecting with a community of individuals who are passionate about similar topics can provide support, inspiration, and a sense of belonging. This tactic will surely boost your twittering machine’s power.

  1. Hey Lisa, dlvr.it is another great tool for automation. I love it because you have more control over how many posts from each site get tweeted. In the free account you can tweet links to posts from up to 5 sites. I choose 5 sites in my industry that post several times a day and set it so that it only posts one tweet for each site every day. That way it looks like I am choosing which posts to tweet instead of tweeting all of them. I love IFTTT, but I have always found the fact that you cannot choose how often it tweets a bit of a drawback.

    1. Hi Andrew, I’ve heard of it but haven’t used it. I’ll have to check it out. I do love Buffer for scheduling mine the most. I love IFTTT for Instagram posts on Twitter, you can see the photos and images. Thanks for coming by and for your input on another tool to check out. Have a great rest of the day.

  2. Hi Lisa,

    1. HI Ankit, you do have to give it time too on Twitter. But do follow these tips and give it a month. I’d love to know how it goes for you. Good luck and you are welcome.

  3. twitter is one of the best ways to connect with your blog’s reader and listen to their queries and more.
I always found my next post ideas from my Twitter readers they ask so many questions, and
I have to answers so better I make post on them and let them enjoy

    1. Hi Prince Ramgarhia, It really is, Twitter is best at that. Getting questions is a great way to generate more posts too. Thanks for coming by!

  4. Hey Lisa,

Tweeting about your blog can be an incredible way to reach out and connect with your consumer.

Twitter not only makes me feel good most of the time, it makes me look good because I keep up a strong ratio of followers compared to how many people I follow and my blog statistics show that Twitter nets me some lovely readers too.

When readers visit your blog, they don’t know you personally. Twitter is the best way to introduce yourself with your readers and make them revisit your blog. Share your blogging experience with your readers, help them, and provide useful tips. Once they know about you, they will be regular readers to your blog.

Twitter is another search engine, in fact all search engines prefer to provide Twitter results. Thus to get high rank in search engines, target Twitter. Tweet good links and share with same niche followers. Amazing post, it will really help to hunt huge traffic and helpful to improve productivity of websites.

    With best wishes,

    1. Hi Amar, welcome to Inspire to Thrive. Great points you make about Twitter Amar. It is a great way to connect with other bloggers and consumers to get to know them. It’s the least intimdating social network I believe. It does drive the most traffic to mine and when I had retail website drove the most sales too. Thanks for your input and for takking the time to come by. Have a great week!

  5. Hey Lisa,
This is my first visit to your blog, and really loved it!

Twitter is an awesome social platform, one should just use it the right way, and your tips are great for this purpose.

Thanks for sharing the valuable tips!
    Keep posting!

    Regards
    Hussain

    1. Thanks Hussain, welcome to Inspire to Thrive. How long have you been on Twitter? It’s the best social network for meeting people in your niche. Have a great day and weekend ahead.

      1. My twitter account has been created ten months back, but I wasn’t active there, just started to use it one months ago and found what you have said so true.

  6. Hi Lisa,

Love this post! Twitter is my #1 love because I get to network and chat with so many people. It’s not all busy nor pleasure but relationships are being made. Twitter is my #2 traffic generator for my blogs too. I think some people get too hung up on sharing all their content and don’t get a chance to really see the value of relationship building. Automating is a must for me. I use Buffer, Hootsuite, dvlr.it, and Twitterfeed to help keep my tweets growing.

I appreciate you sharing all these tips with us. I’ve already shared.

Hope you’re having a great week!

    B

    1. Hi Brenda, thank you. what is dvlr.it ? That’s a new one on me Brenda…..I still prefer Twitter off Facebook for networking. It’s just easier and less distracting I find. Thanks for coming by Brenda and sharing your automation tools that you use with Twitter. Have a great rest of the week and see you back on Twitter.

  7. Hi Lisa,

I love Twitter, it’s my favorite social media platform – but I have to admit that I haven’t been as active as I used to be.

Thanks for showing us all the ways we can be a Twitter superstar. I remember your post about the images and GIFs – which I’ve yet to do – thanks for the reminder. About that and creating lists. Looks like I have a little project to do this weekend.

Hope you’re having a great day! You know I’m sharing this one.

    Cori

    1. Hi Cori, really? I’m a surprised you haven’t been as active, any reason? Are you using another network more to promote? You got my curiosity Cori. Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful Wednesday.

  8. Hi Lisa,

You are always my go-to-gal when it comes to Twitter. There is always great information you share and I get tempted to get back on and tweet away. But I only share things from other people there. I know how powerful the Twitter platform is, but I think it is time for someone to take over my account for me soon so that I can have a better presence there.

Thanks again for your amazing advice..I will share!

    -Donna

    1. Hi Donna, thank you, Yes, give it a shot, just another 10 minutes a day and you should see a big diffeence. I’ll be checking on you Donna. Have a great day and thanks for coming by and taking the time to comment on this one.

  9. Hi Lisa,

Over the last six months Twitter has been HUGE for me. One thing that really helped for a while was attending one or two twitter chats each week and being really engaged and involved in it. I met some amazing folks through them!

Another thing I noticed is the more I thanked people for sharing and then retweeted the more followers I started attracting and the more clickthroughs I had to my articles. Then, people started adding me to large Twitter groups.

As you stated, it’s really the engagement factor… thanking, retweeting, sharing their posts and just being involved on the platform. It is paying huge dividends.

Have an awesome week Lisa and thanks for sharing your insights!

    ~ Don Purdum

    1. Hi Don, those Twitter chats are great Don, I’m looking a for a couple of new ones to jump into myself. Oh yes, thanking folks is important. I’m glad to hear it’s paid huge dividends for you Don. Thanks for sharing your story about it here with us. You are welcome. Have a great week yourself Don and see you back on the Twitterverse.

  10. Hi Lisa,

I follow each tip; they work! Because my Twitter got stale last month and I needed a change.

Engaging a TON, tweeting more, automating more and following more folks spiced things up for me. I find myself mentioned frequently as a top engaged tweeter and just enjoy the tweeting experience much more than usual, or heck, then ever.

Set aside 10 or 20 minutes 1-2 times daily. Respond to RTers, thank them, RT others, follow folks and have fun to make your twitter account pop.

    Thanks Lisa!

    Ryan

    1. Hi Ryan, yes – you are one of the masters there on Twitter. I love the videos and GIFS that you have done. Thanks for sharing how you do it here. You are welcome and I hope you have a great rest of the week there Ryan!

  11. Hi Lisa,

    Informative post indeed.

Yes, sometimes we might notice a little drop in our Twitter, be if the followers or other things you mentioned, but you can always build it up through the ways you suggested. Honestly speaking, I’ve only seen my Twitterness grow right from day one, and you are right – joining various chats, lists, and other such things that engage – only makes it all the more better!

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day ahead.

    1. Thank you Harleena. Oh yes and drops and additions do come and go but if it remains stale it is time to look it over and see what one can do to up that Twitterness factor. What chats do you particpate in now? I’m looking for a few new ones to join myself, thanks Harleena and have a great rest of the week.

  12. Hey Lisa,

Twitter is an effective social networking site to use. But sometimes the users get discouraged because they don’t get enough followers.

They should tweet more and reach out more people with GIF and images. Twitter analytics can help them.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful post.
    Have a great day.
    ~Ravi

    1. Hi Ravi, that is so true. If Twitter users don’t see follower growth or any type of engagement they can surely get discouraged. You are welcome. I appreciate your taking the time to come by and comment on this one Ravi. Have a great day!
