When you spend time writing a business blog, you don’t want to waste your time. You want to know that you are spending time on this blog for a good reason. You want your blog to get noticed by readers and by Google.
There are a ton of great reasons out there for you to be working on your blog.
But you already know that! Your business blog is going to make or break your business. However, this is because, without your blog, your website is nowhere near as interesting to potential customers as you think.
You want your blog noticed, and you want it noticed for all the right reasons, and you don’t have to just blog blocks of content, either.

Getting Your Blog In Front Of Readers
Business blogs often contain videos, discount announcements, “day in the life” episodes, and written content. This written content has to be engaging and intelligent. It has to give people a reason to keep coming back to your website.
Without your continued investment, your blog won’t be able to thrive and you need it to do this if you want to keep it in the search engine results pages. Many people out there dust off their WordPress sites and start drafting a blog with all of the optimism of a baby with a candy bar.
Oftentimes, they forget that it’s not just about making a site and having great ideas. You’ve got to push. Hence, you have to learn whether to buy backlinks and how you can focus your blog on the right authority websites.
When you’ve spent time working on blogs, you need to then get them out there to the world and make sure that you have people reading them.
Going from Zero to Hero
Making your blog go from zero to a hero in the internet world is the dream of every blogger. It’s not an overnight thing, either.
It takes time to grow a blog to have a decent following who actually cares about what you have to say, which means that you need to be dedicated enough to put both time and effort into your blogging efforts.
You have to give yourself a shake and remind yourself that this is not a race; you will be able to grow your blog; it just takes time. As a business leader, and a leader in your field, this is going to be something that you need to work on slowly.
So, how can you get your blog in front of the rest of the world? We’ve got nine excellent tips to get your blog in front of more readers.
1. Design Your Blog To Get Noticed
Design It Your Way. One of the best things about blogs is that you can customize them in the way that you see fit. You can choose to make it match your website and your brand, but you can also have a standalone blog site that toggles to your main website.
This will give your blog a little breath of fresh air. The design really does matter when it comes to your blog and each blog should be unique.
There are a million free templates out there, but none of that matters if you’re going to look the same as every other blog in your field. You may want to choose a paid theme for your own blog to customize it.
First impressions count here – you want people coming back to your blog time and time again, and they will only do that if your blog looks attractive.
The fun bit is in choosing all of your design elements, and you can bring on an outsider to help you to put it all together, or you can do it yourself and design it your way.
2. Blogging Communities to Grow Your Blog
Blogging communities matter. If you want to get your blog out there in the world properly, you need to add your blog to a range of blogging communities.
These are extremely popular for blogs, and other bloggers will see your blog and be constantly checking out all of these communities for as much networking and information as possible.
There are tons of communities that you can send your blog to, but the best thing that you can do is send yours to your own community of blogs that do the same thing that you do.
And, there are other bloggers out there who are always looking for networking opportunities, and you can partner up with other blogs to host each other’s posts on your sites.
This will allow you to further your reach and get noticed by even more of an audience.
When you follow and engage with other blogs, you increase your blog visibility in your community, and this will lead to more people checking you out. This is exactly what you want!
Write comments and create conversations and you will get seen pretty quickly by people who matter.
One of my favorite communities is the Biz Sugar business community. I’ve been a member there for years and oftentimes will get my blog posts mentioned elsewhere.
3. Be An Authority for Getting Your Blog Noticed Today
Be An Authority. If you can write tutorials and pillar articles on topics that you know and understand, you will be considered as one to watch in your industry. Why?
Because you know what you’re talking about. If you only ever write blogs that are for a particular day or season, they can’t be reused and they “expire”.
You want to ensure that “how-to” articles and other tutorials stay relevant for as long as they can. If you know that information updates and changes over time, you’ll be in good stead to update your own blogs and repost them as you need to.
You’ll find that people will signpost and share your posts when they are relevant for future reference.
4. Become A Guest Blogger
Be A Guest on other blogs. There is something excellent about being a guest on the blog of other people.
Not only is it a great way to engage with people interested in the same field you write for, but you’ll find that you can add backlinks for the right places you can network when you do this.
You can guest blog and – as your blog grows – accept guests for your own blog, too. It’s a great way to get noticed and continue to drive traffic to your blog posts – especially those that you share on social media.
Be sure that you guest blog on other blogs in your niche to be effective.
Speaking of which…
5. Use Social Media
Get On Social Media. Without social media, you can’t create conversation. You have to go beyond the regular websites out there. Use Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook – as most social media is huge to gain attention.
Any time you make a blog post, share it for your followers. It will help you garner excellent conversation through those mediums. When your audience sees your posts, they can share them when they like what you have to say, and that can grow exponentially.
Now, with the right hashtags and keywords on your social media pages, you’re going to get more noticed than you think.
6. Write Often and Consistently
Blog Often. It can be very easy to go off the boil with your blog – but you shouldn’t! Blogging should be weekly at a minimum, and daily at best. If you want weekly engagement, then blog weekly.
If you want daily engagement and better reach, then post every day once a day at the least. Your readers are coming to you for information, and you can give them that information as you need to.
Hence, if you find that blogging is your passion, you’re going to find that this all comes naturally to you.
However, if you don’t think it comes naturally for you, the best thing that you can do is hire content writer. Have them ghost the blog posts for you with the right backlinks included.
7. Trade Links with Other Bloggers
Trade Links. We talked about buying backlinks earlier, but you should also consider trading links. If you have built yourself a community of other bloggers, you’re going to be able to share links for the blogs that you like and respect.
You can add these to your blog pages. You will find that you help others to increase their reach – just like they are going to do for you.
Creating excellent blog posts a must, but you also need to make sure that you are building up your traffic. Trading links is a good way, to begin with.
8. Flip and Reverse It
Flip and Reverse It. We talked about creating social media pages to share your blogs, but you should also ensure that you have social media buttons on your blog for others to click that share button.
Those buttons are just one way to show your followers that your business is accessible and easy to contact. When you do this, you make your blogs far more engaging and easier to share.
Facebook and Twitter X are huge and you really can’t miss out on this one. However, with that said, you don’t want share buttons everyone on your site as readers will leave and go to the social sites.
You want them to stay on your blog to read more.
9. Use Video For Getting Your Blog Noticed
Video It. Lastly, make sure that you are doing more than just writing content. Video content will help your information reach another audience.
Everyone loves videos – it’s why we love YouTube. If your business has a YouTube channel, you will be able to reach more people, engage more people and create more conversation about what you can do.

Hi Lisa,
Its really a wonderful article with lots of information.
In the social share part you have not mentioned about pinterest. Should we link our blogs with Pinterest also?
Currently I am using Quora and Medium to increase my blog traffic. What do you think about Linkedin?
Should we publish our article on Linkedin also to increase traffic?
I have not started gust posting yet. How can I start doing that and what are the sources where I can do guest posting?
Will be waiting for your valuable comment
Thanks
Dipanjan Biswas
Hi Dipanjan, thank you. Pinterest works for some types of niches but not all. If you have the time it won’t hurt, but it’s a time factor! I love Quora and Medium is good too if you have the extra time. LinkedIn is great for B2B’s. I used to publish those articles, it can help but so can LinkedIn ads and being active on that network. I have not received a lot of traffic from guest posting. I have met new bloggers that way though. Lots to think about!
Hi Lisa,
I am checking out Biz Sugar. Never heard of it before!
Keeping writing and not giving up is helping with my blogging clarity. Patience is definitely key.
Have a great rest of your week!!
Thanks,
Eric
Hi Eric, I think you will like Biz Sugar. It’s a great community of bloggers and business people. Yes, patience is surely the key when blogging. Thanks for coming by and enjoy the rest of your week! Hard to believe it’s Thursday already here.
Hi Lisa,
Excellent job. You hit on so many key pointers here. I love blogging and doing all the things one does to get noticed. I definitely popped up more on the radar screen last night per someone posting 80 spam comments overnight LOL. Versus seeing pure annoyance, I appreciate seeing my presence expand to the point where spammers want exposure on my platform.
Video rocks, podcasting works and simply making friends by generously helping other bloggers opens up all sorts of channels for gaining blogging exposure.
Ryan
Thank you Ryan. Oh my, I don’t like that when it happens but you make a good point. They must really want exposure on the site to do it that much. LOL. Yes, helping others is what it is all about Ryan. Thanks for your input and have a great day there!
