If your time is limited, which do you prefer to race to post to your blog, comment on blogs, or share blog posts? And do you share before or after you post? Which order is the best path to your blog’s success?
After 12 years of blogging now I believe it’s best to write a blog post first. You need to have your blog content updated and out there.
Then you must let your own followers know about your new content by email, push notifications, and posting it on social networks.
The experts say we should share out content 80% of the time and write 20% of the time. Wow! And then when we share you must share 80% of others’ content and 20% of your own content.
That sounds like a lot of work, doesn’t it?
After posting the new content, I go on to sharing with my audience via a tweet, YouTube video, an email, and then the other social networks for as much as time allows.
Then I share other content via Agorapulse on several of the social networks. I tend to share most via Twitter, Flipboard, Gab, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
Lastly, I then go comment on other blog posts out there. Of course, you have to beware of spam comments on networks and blogs.
Table of Contents
Post First For Your Blog
Creating a blog post takes time today more than ever before. You need time to do the research. Blog posts today are longer lengths than they were 5+ years ago. When I first began blogging 300 words was okay and 500 was great. That’s no longer the case today unless you are a Seth Godin.
Then, you then need to pick your topic wisely by checking Google trends and analytics. You will also need time to look for your creative photo or image and maybe optimize it with a WordPress plugin.
However now that AI has taken over writing for many bloggers in 2023, you can save time with AI tools. You will have to check the research and add your own experiences to the content.
Moreover, you need time to do a spell-check too. It’s always best to proof your blog posts at another time.
I now love using Grammarly now for checking my grammar and spelling. As I’m updating old posts I am correcting the errors I’ve found.
Then, even after all that, I let the blog post sit and then re-proof it one more time. No more time for errors here and there.
Racing To Comment On Other’s Blog Posts
Commenting takes time too. Which websites or blogs do you comment on? What if you read a post and cannot add anything to it? What if you disagree – how can you tactfully comment on that?
If you do not comment often on blogs you may find your own blog post with fewer comments.
You also get to know other bloggers better and form relationships through commenting as Adrienne and Ryan pointed out in the past.
It’s a great way to meet new bloggers when you find new blogs on social media to comment on. I often go through my Triberr and Viral Content blogs and comment on those too.
The hidden benefit of blog commenting is generating backlinks for your blog.
You also may meet other bloggers there too. It’s like the chicken and the egg, which came first?
Share It After The Race To Post It
The saying is sharing is caring right? We must share. Share others’ great content. Part of sharing is also interacting.
This all takes a lot of time too. Sharing can take more time than creating your own blog post. Especially if you are on multiple social networking sites.
And then of course you may get lost there sharing as you see friends and want to connect. It happens to me all the time.
I see friends active on MeWe, Minds, Twitter, or LinkedIn and away I go on a conversation. But that’s the fun part..
We need to have fun too with our blogs, right?
Saving Time Sharing Content
Lately, I’ve been running behind – behind on posting, behind on commenting, and even behind on sharing. (Even years later I find myself in the same predicament.)
It made me wonder, what do others do when this happens? I know it must happen to others at times.
Life happens, we all have situations that come up that take us away from our blogs. So we really need a system to get in a groove with the race to post, comment, and share.
Your Take on the Race to Post To Blog and Share Your Content
So if you have limited time, which do you do first? Do you race to post, comment, or share? Do you have a routine that works well for you? I’d love to know more in the comments below.

Hi Lisa,
You sure summed up this one spot on. Blogging does take a lot of time from the idea to writing to checking for spelling and grammar. But what’s important is commenting on other blogs and sharing it via social networks. I see here that one of your commenters have seen you on my blog and came here to introduce himself and comment on this particular blog post. See how wonderful comments work? Leaving a good comment on someone’s blog will surely help meeting new people.
-Donna
Hi Donna, Yes, that did happen right from your blog. Isn’t that cool? I’ve seen that from time to time and I try to visit other blogs from others who comment where I do. But you do need the TIME to do it! It’s a great way to network with other bloggers. Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful weekend ahead Donna!
Hey Lisa.
Checking you out from Donna’s blog. Nice to meet you.
I post 3 times a week on my blog. While that does take a chunk of my time, I managed to set a production schedule for blog posts.
On top of that, social media sharing, checking out other blogs in the tribe, working on previously published posts, checking site health stats — phew, it’s a lot of work, Of course.
I do ghost blogging as a part of my services so I got used to writing blog posts. Probably, that’s been saving me from a complete blackout.
Ash
Hi Ash, nice to meet you and welcome to Inspire To Thrive! Oh yes it surely is a lot of work doing 3 per week from scratch or even updating old ones can be a lot of work. What tool do you use for your social media sharing Ash? Thanks for coming by and for your input on this one. Make it a great day.
Hey Lisa,
I used to depend on Hootsuite earlier. But it became too limited and clunky to manage (plus there are limitations on how many platforms you could connect with then).
So I use Semrush’s social scheduling and monitoring tool (part of their long list of features).
Writing for my blog and working on the old ones is not even the beginning.
— have to write for clients all day long.
— with Google’s new core vitals update, I’ve been trying to make my site faster, and all that.
— working on new course launch.
Phew :)Just got tired thinking about it all while writing this.
Ash
Hi Ash, I’ve heard SEM Rush now offers that. Talk about an all-in-one tool. Does it do social listening too? How much is it for their program? Thanks for coming by and mentioning another tool for us all.
Semrush has a free forever plan and the social monitoring and social scheduling is built in. I’ve been using it for a while now and I see no limits yet (maybe limits apply if you need to connect with a lot more social profiles). I see no limits with the number of posts you can schedule though.
You are welcome Lisa. My pleasure to be here and devour your blog posts.
Ash
Thank you Ash for letting us know here.
Hello Lisa, nice post of course. I usually visit blogs I actually have on my list for visiting and so comment and share as I go on. I attempt to continue writing my articles weekly however the past 2-weeks have simply been crazy.
Thanks Moakami, welcome to Inspire to Thrive. It sure is tough to write blog posts and comment everywhere and be on all the social networks. It’s a never ending job. We do the best we can, right?
Nice post. Thanks for Sharing.
And off course without sharing and commenting you will never get a great traffic as well as best relation with other bloggers.
Thanks Mohammad, yrs it can increase your traffic but do you think its always targeted? Been wondering that of late. Thanks for coming by.
Hello dear,
Good point you have noted, commenting take a lot of time, because for any comment you must need to first read the post carefully.
And off course without sharing you will never get a good traffic as well as good relation with other bloggers.
It sure does Mohammad, I’m glad I don’t post daily anymore. I would have no time to comment anywhere. It really is a form of social networking, don’t you think so? Thanks for takin the time to comment here today!
Hi Lisa. When I’m short of time I tend to just share, though I feel it’s important not to do this just for the sake of it. After all, any content shred reflects on the person sharing.
Hi Andrew, yes, that is so true. You must be careful of the things you share as well. Thanks for coming by and putting your input in on this one.
Nice example of united we stand and divided we fall. Getting social and interacting with other bloggers does helps immensely. That said I have seen some guys who are really trying to do it all by themselves but then that is the harder way of doing the things when you already have an easier way why to take the useless stress.
Keral, yes that is true. We must all work together if we want to succeed. That was something I really did not know in the beginning when I first started blogging. But I met some really wonderful people along the way. Thanks for coming by and taking the time to comment Karal. Have a great day.
Blogging is as much about interacting and sharing as it is about publishing posts. I always feel pressure to post something. At times, like you said, it’s hard to balance life on earth and in cyberspace, especially if I’m working on a writing project. That zaps me of my energy. Every once in a while, I need to escape from the Internet because I get overwhelmed.
I stick to commenting and reading several blogs. Otherwise, I get burned out. I love to share other bloggers’ posts on Twitter and Facebook. I also like Triberr but haven’t been there in a while.
Hi Lauren, I think Triberr helps to get it done fast and meet some new bloggers along the way. At least for me. I go there at least 2x a day and quickly share the ones I know and trust. If unsure I will skip until I can check out the posts. If it weren’t for Triberr I could not share so much. I can do it from my mobile as well. It would take much longer without that.
Oh yes I understand about the writing, when I was doing my litle eBook I felt it so I can’t imagine a book like yours Lauren. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Hi Lisa,
I love the title here, particularly the “race to comment” part!
I say that because both you and Adrienne Smith’s blog get so many comments in such a short time.
In the back of my mind, the first several to comment get the best placement and are viewed more, so early to post is usually best.
I believe all three are important and for me, setting a schedule and following it on a weekly basis is key. It is a weak spot and something I am working on.
Thanks for your comment today on my blog, I am looking forward to spending more time here learning from you!
Have a great weekend!
Richard
Thanks Richard. It does become more difficult to comment on other blogs when you start to get a lot of comments. You have to add time in there to respond to comments too. But you are right, you must start with a post or there is nothing to share right? Thanks for coming by Inspire to Thrive and taking the time to comment here. Enjoy your weekend.
Hi Lisa,
I am posting almost every time if I feel short on time. Creating vibes with me so I go down that road. But sharing and commenting is key, so I do my best to get it all in. Interesting questions here.
Oh yes, having fun and engaging, beyond important! I too spend more than a few minutes chatting about sports or silly stuff. Letting your hair down helps you detach from outcomes.
Thanks Lisa!
Ryan
Thanks Ryan for coming by and commenting. I like that “Letting your hair down helps you detach from outcomes.” Never thought of it like that. Have a wonderful weekend!
True!
A blogger is not only a writer or a speaker he/she is also a part of a community. So, commenting and sharing other posts is playing an important role. Your effort on other’s blog will bounce back to your blog. This is the system.
Great thought…
Thanks Majharul, yes a system indeed. Like a cycle, it ebbs and flows. Thank you for taking the time to comment today. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hi Lisa,
This is a very interesting discussion.
I think the 3 components are important, Post, Comment and Share. I publish a post every Tuesday at 10:00 AM EST. As soon as I publish it, I go comment on other bloggers’ posts and share them. For me, I find it important to post first so that those who want to reciprocate can find a fresh post to comment on and share as well.
Great Post Lisa, thanks for sharing.
Be Blessed,
Neamat
Thanks Neamat. You are like Adrienne, right on time and target. Sometimes I feel like it’s a catch 22, since this post I haven’t had time to comment much and am wanting to post at the same time. Thanks for taking the time to comment and enjoy the rest of your week Neamat.
Great to meet you, Lisa. I loved this post. Very eloquent yet very simple. Love that. I probably need to do more commenting. I always try to share when I read a blog and comment, so that is not an issue. But I would love to comment more and create relationships with my fellow bloggers! Blessings, Amy
Thanks Amy and welcome to Inspire to Thrive! Nice to meet you. It does take time to comment and boy to get around to many blogs, read and comment is another process. And then when you get a lot of comments that creates more work but isn’t that what we really want? Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hello Lisa, great post for sure. I often visit blogs I have on my list for visiting and then comment and share as I move on. I try to stick to writing my articles weekly but the past 2-weeks have just been crazy.
Thanks so much Lisa for a very interesting post my friend
Ah, just like my physio, you’ve hit the sore spot with this one, Lisa. I feel like I’m continually playing catch-up at the moment and have to admit I don’t have a very consistent system for dealing with this. I’ve been posting once a week, though I’m going to have to let that slide shortly due to a holiday (I was going to draft posts to publish while I’m away, but I’ve decided I really need a proper break).
I try to respond to comments on my blog fairly promptly and tend to immediately visit most of the sites of people who’ve commented, via their commentluv links, to read and comment on their blogs. I share posts when I’ve commented on them, if I think it’s appropriate (I’m a bit more selective than I used to be about that, trying only to share stuff that’s relevant and gives excellent value).
I also have one or two blogs I subscribe to, which I visit regularly, and I’ll visit, comment on and share others in a fairly random way, as I come across them via social media or links from other blogs.
I sometimes think I’m spending far too much time commenting on other blogs, but I feel a sense of obligation, particularly towards people who’ve commented on my own, and I think it’s a great way to support and network with other bloggers. It’s made worse by the fact that I’m such a slow writer, whether I’m writing my own posts, commenting or responding to other people’s comments on my own blog.
I know I’ve got to get smarter and quicker at this, given that my request for more hours in the day is falling on deaf ears.
Sue
PS I agree with you about the need to have a bit of fun.
Hi Sue, sounds like you and I are in the same boat rowing all the time. We can only do much in the hours we have. I too wonder am I spending too much time commenting and other days I rarely get to comment at all. It can feel like an “obligation” to those that regularly visit your blog and I have gotten more selective too where I comment and if it truly makes sense and not just always return the “favor.” I try to post 2x a week but once is becoming more the reality especially with the other blogs I have too. Glad you are taking a true break Sue and I hope you really enjoy it.
Thanks for your input on this topic and have some fun.
Hi Lisa,
Love this post and every bloggers should definitely see the important of post, comment and share. It’s great to publish a quality post instead wanting to just pop out another post. Reply to comment and networking are the key to success.
Thanks – Ferb
Thanks Ferb, appreciate that. It sure is a process. Many when they start out blogging think that they will just write, right? Thanks for taking time to comment on this one Ferb.
Hi Lisa,
All are really important. What i normally do is
1. Post
2. Share
3. Comment.
But if i have limited time, i will simply share and go because if i must comment, i will take time to read the post so that i will know what to say.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Theodore, thanks for your input, I’m the same way if no time to comment I share. I am so behind on commenting. Hope to dig out soon. Enjoy the rest of your week.
I am all over the place to be honest. With a full time day job, I have to schedule my time on time I dedicate for my blog and sharing other content, plus commenting. Adrienne, has it down pact, but she also has the time to do it as well. I was right there with you for the last few weeks of no commenting or sharing. Life happen, but we are so lucky to have met some great people out there who understands that and happy to see you when you get back. Welcome back Lisa…
Hi Sonia, yes, you do know what I mean as you work full time as well outside of your blog. It is nice that most people do get “it”. Thanks for coming by and adding your input on this one, much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of your week.
I try to plan out and write my blog posts weeks in advance based on an Editorial calendar that I setup in my blog planner for the year. That way I am not scrambling the night before anymore. I dedicate my mornings to commenting and tweeting because that is when the people in my niche are most active it seems.
It does take a lot of time to keep up with everything and it most likely always will. It seems like the more I do, the busier my blog gets which simply creates even more work for me.
Good for you Sicorra with your editorial calendar. I hear they work very well. That is so true, the more you do the busier your blog gets thus creating more work. How ironic, isn’t it? Thanks for coming by and enjoy your day!
Well thank you Lisa for the mention, I sure appreciate that. Always girl!
Okay, want to know my schedule? Here goes…
I write my blog posts and then I publish them every Monday and Thursday morning at 8:00 am CST. I immediately start replying to the comments left on my post and I also copy the CommentLuv link and paste it into a Notepad file. After I have finished replying to my comments, which after my post has been published they start flying in, I’ll start with that first person that left a comment on my blog and I’ll go visit their post. That’s how I do things.
Only after I’ve finished visiting everyone will I then go visit my commenting group and comment on their posts and I also have a couple of mastermind groups that I visit their blogs too. Trying to find the time to visit blogs I haven’t yet as you can see is becoming impossible for me. Now if they leave a comment on mine then that’s guaranteed I’ll stop by if I can wrap my head around their content that is.
You are right, this entire process is very time consuming but it’s so much darn fun. Right now I’m like you are though. I’m SO behind with commenting and it seems like I’ll never get caught up but I will. I won’t let my readers down, they are the most important people to me online. They mean the world to me so I want to let them know that for sure.
Great post Lisa and thanks for pointing out the process some of us go through to make sure we read and share our loyal blogging buddies fabulous content.
Hope you’re enjoying your week and don’t wear yourself out. I’m doing my best not too either.
~Adrienne
Adrienne, you are so on schedule! It is fun to check out other blogs and comment. I’m like you in that respect that I would not want to let anyone down. I’m curious how many comments you do per day Adrienne. I do as little as 2 to 20 per day usually somewhere in between. Someone once told me they did 100 a day when they first started. Thanks for explaining how you do it all and enjoy the rest of your week.
Lisa,
Nice and interesting post.
To me..Posting takes a lot time since need to finalize the subject and also need to put some analysis on it. Also I am not that great enough on professional writing as well.
Indeed, scheduled blogging is not my cup of tea and spending time with family is very important. Due to busy work schedule, finding leisure time is quite difficult these days and I could write only 3-4 posts per month and hardly trying to make it 6-7 at least if possible.
I love to read other blogs and comment as well and it’s my first priority. I does this as much possible as well. Thanks to social media sharing and it really offers enough room to chit chat with friends and family.
Thanks for sharing the post. have a nice week ahead.
Thanks Manickam. Thanks for your input, it sounds like you do more commenting than writing. Interesting. 3-4 monthly is not bad, that’s really once per week. Thanks for coming by and enjoy the rest of your week.
Hi Lisa,
I try to comment first in the morning. I open my email and people that I follow, if they have something new, I will read it and make a comment. If I don’t have anything intelligent to add, I will share it. I have been using the bloglovin. I don’t have a lot of people on it because I assume that not a lot ton of people that I follow have signed up yet. I really like it because everything is organized. I have to admit that I still don’t know how to use twitter very well, and I am often worried that I have missed something or did not say thank you to someone.
Hi Cynthia, if you are unsure of Twitter be sure to sign up for my newsletter and grab a free copy of Tweeting Like It’s Second Nature, I think you do pretty well on there from what I’ve seen. I have used Blogloving too and don’t have all the blogs I follow there. I catch others on Tribber. I haven’t even gotten to my email yet and I have 10 minutes before getting ready for work, eek! Take care and have a great day Cynthia.
Excellent presentation Lisa.
When I`ve limited time I see if can post then I will go with posting small content. Because I think readers who visit my blog daily look for new content and I don`t want to disappointment them.
Incase I don`t have time to post then I go with sharing content on FB profile.
~@Khajamoin1
Thanks Khaja. Do you do at least 300 words with the small content? Oh I don’t share as often on FB, someday I will try an experiment with it! Thanks for coming by and sharing your story with us today.
Hi Lisa,
I haven’t given this much thought, well, until now. But, I do believe that I prefer writing a post if I have limited time. I learn more from writing a post, and I believe that the value from writing a post might be slightly bigger than commenting and sharing, but, all three are very important.
I have been writing new blog posts every single day now, and that’s new to me. Usually, I don’t have the time to write that much, but it’s kind of like an experiment to see the effects, like if I get more visitors, and if I feel that I learn more from it, and if I feel less stressed when I write. So far, I believe that it’s been an awesome test, and I have discovered that if I write every day, things are more or less turning into a habit and it’s like my job is automated. I just do it, and it’s a lot of fun as well. The next step is to add comments and sharing into the same routine, and hopefully I’ll have the time for all of them.
Hi Jens, I know it’s a tough call isn’t it? Wow, daily? How do you keep up? I used to but found it did not bring more traffic or much more to be of value. Love to know how it goes Jens, do tell. Thanks for taking the time to come by and sharing your info with us here.
Getting lost in all our responsibilities happens to all of us at some point, like yours truly here who is reading, commenting, and sharing posts at 10:20 pm.
I think it’s very important to comment and share and I value all the bloggers I follow. My schedule is a little crazy but I research and rough draft my post and at night put the finishing touches and scheduled to post the next morning. This gives me time to read, comment and share blogs throughout the day. I try to do one an hour because I have a long list. It seems to be working for me although I know there’s a shortcut somewhere, I just can’t see it.
And how cool was it to see our twittersation on here. That has been the best part of it all, meeting great folks like you
Hi Corina, ah that’s the buffer or Tribber at 10:20 PM – I’m usually in bed and sleeping by then. I love that word “Twittersation” Corina, have you seen it before? That is my favorite part too anad I’m glad we also meet via it. I’m sure I’ll catch up with on Twitter today and have a great day! Thanks again for taking time to comment here.
I’ve not seen twittersation or twittership, it’s just something I use to refer to conversations and relationships on twitter. Hmm…maybe I should patten these or something LOL
Yes Corina, I love the words.
Hi Lisa,
It’s always a race, no doubt about that. For me anyway. I try to go visit all the bloggers that visit me, and sometimes it’s hard to keep up. The day you stop visiting other blogs it’s the day you’ll see less people comment on yours, right? And that’s understandable. It’s a give and take.
To me sharing takes less time than commenting, but yet you want to know what you’re sharing.
By the way, I was inspired by you to start posting on slide share again. I’ve done it a long time ago and than never did again, but that’s cool. Just like you my last post has a slide share at the end.
Sylviane, that was the other option I was playing with rats for the SlideShare. Yes, that is the way it goes. Glad I was able to inspire you with Slideshare. I’ve been using it more and it gets easier to do the more you do it. Just like anything else, right? Thanks for coming by and commenting today. Have a great week Sylviane.
Posting, Commenting, And Sharing all takes time, but the effort you put in it shows how you value each post. But as for myself, I prefer to post first, comment second, and sharing last. I can write some really good posts that I just can’t wait to share with others and also I really value great content as well. Especially if it’s something new I just learn or a post that makes me think. These are the ones I really value and make an effort to write a good comment, then of course I have to share it. Thanks for the share Lisa!
Hi Sherman, I think that’s what most of us do but not all. I agree with you on if you find something new and are excited about it, you want to post it asap. Good point. Thanks for coming by and commenting today. Enjoy the rest of your week.
I am so bad on sharing posts if I see it on my twitter feed I will share but other than that I don’t and I need to do better and get into a routine. A lot of people comment on my blog post from twitter which I like but I hate at the same time lol I don’t know I would like you to leave the comment on my blog but they are reading so no need to complain.
Hi Kita, I know it sucks when you have no comments then when you get a lot – you are like “Oh no I have to answer all these now”. Double edge sword. Thanks for your input on this one and good luck with sharing more too Kita.
PCS is something I love, and something that feels like it takes too much time, sometimes.
My priority is posting. It has to be. If I don’t ship content, my blog is dead in the water. Commenting and sharing are equally important to me (I almost always have something to say – big surprise), but when push comes to shove, I’ll settle for sharing, and get back to comment as I’m able to.
I have to admit, something about the way Bloglovin’ is organized is making it easier for me to do it all. Gotta love that.
I like that Ellen, PCS, never thought of it like that. Interesting you choose sharing over commenting. I think I do that as well when I’m pinched for time. Thanks Ellen for your feedback on this one. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hello Lisa!
I took blogging seriously for over a year ago and till now, writing is the part that I enjoy the most. Doing the research, searching for the relevant images or sometimes, creating own images to fit in, proofreading. I love doing the stuff. And, maybe that is why, I made this my niche. I never felt like doing a boring job, when blogging.
Thanks for this lovely article.
Koundeenya, what about the sharing and commenting? Do you also do that as part of your blog? Thanks for coming by and commenting.
Hi Lisa,
Interesting topic for discussion, and that surely was a lovely slideshare
Well, of course posting is important, and we all need to research our matter in most of the cases, and make sure the post is ready to roll in time, along with all those grammar and punctuation checks done. Where sharing and commenting is concerned, I do both of them side by side. When I wait for comments, I share, and when I get comments, I reply to them as they come, and then continue sharing.
As I regularly post every Tuesday and Friday, and with people leaving comments mostly knowing that, I’m still trying to have a fixed time for both days. Sometimes I am flooded with comments, when sharing takes a while, but by the end of the day I make sure it’s shared all over. This gives time for being around a while before the next post comes up.
Commenting on other people’s post or return visits is what I mainly do the next day of my post, and I usually do it even before I reply to all the comments on my own post, as I feel I owe them this much – theirs first – mine later kinds.
Oh yes..we all do tend to get caught up in small chit-chats on FB and Twitter and need to take hold of things and our time, or else it all goes haywire. The best thing to do, especially when our works not done is not to open both these sites – so less of distractions!!
As you know, my FB is blocked past 3 days, and I’m taking it as a HUGE time-saver and able to do a lot more (seeing the brighter side of things), as I wait for problems to be resolved. So, the control also lies in our hands, we just need to take hold of it all.
Thanks for sharing, and have a great week ahead.
Thanks Harleena. Wow, you have it down to a science. Interesting for you to be blocked from FB – I bet is saving you a ton of time. I guess that is key to have control and a schedule that you can stick to. Appreciate your input on this one Harlenna, enjoy the rest of your week.
I guess I kind of get on a posting, commenting, sharing, etc. kick for a while, and then something either comes up or I just need to take a break. I do have some non-blogging projects that I need to spend several hours working on in a given month. When the time comes for that I don’t have as much time available for commenting and such.
I also think some people are much more organized and naturally faster at these kinds of things. Commenting isn’t too time-consuming, but it usually takes me well over an hour to write a post.
I don’t keep a schedule. I just tell myself I haven’t been over to his/her website for a while now I should head over there and see what they are up to.
Hi Ray, yes I understand that one completely. I have other projects and a job too. Some of my posts do take longer than that, it all depends on topic and amount of research and making graphics along the way. I sometimes see things shared on Twitter or G+ or on Tribber and then head over. Thanks for your input and for coming by Inspire to Thrive. Enjoy the rest of your day.
HI Lisa
Lately I’ve been busy with some offline project and they are taking hell lot of time. But really for me it doesn’t matter, because many of us are not posting on any particular schedule so for me whenever I find any update while blog hopping I comment and share, but actually there is no fixed set of rules, I’m currently adhering to.
Your slideshare is appealing. You’re a true brand ambassador for slideshare.
Thanks for this great share, have a great week ahead.
Sapna
Hi Sapna, I don’t have any hard rules myself but I like to post at least once a week. Thanks Sapna, I must admit I got the inspiration from Anna Hoffman. She reminded me of “themes” in powerpoint. I have fun making them. Enjoy the rest of your week too Sapna.
Hi Lisa
I’ve just moved to Feedly from Feed Demon and I find it much easier so far to keep on top of reading, commenting and sharing.
I generally prioritise my blog posts, get those out of the way and then plan some time in for commenting and sharing through the rest of the week.
I slowed down quite a lot before I went on holiday and it showed in the traffic I was getting. I don’t want to feel pressurised again (it was me who was applying the pressure) so striking a balance between life and blog is a must going forward.
Life must always come first because blogging is not really my focus, looking after my family is. Maybe when they’re a little older, that may change.
I think blog posts should come first, then commenting and sharing. The reason I do it that way round is because I don’t want my blog to get stagnant.
If I go around commenting everywhere and there’s no new blog post for people to comment on, then they’re not going to comment.
Thanks Tim for your input. I’m thinking about using Feedly too. Heard lots of good things about it. Great point about starting with the blog post. I thought so but was curious as I was getting behind on all fronts. Glad you enjoyed some time off Tim, sounds like another good tidbit for us all. Enjoy the rest of your week.
If I’m having big crunch time, I’ll scan the blog, share it, then go back later to comment. Thats one good thing about using a reader, being able to mark it Unread. I won’t do my own blog post if I’m crunched for time because I dont want to risk a flop.
Interesting post. I look forward to seeing what others do.
Thanks Bren, I do that often too, I’ll share and comment later if I remember. I’ll often start a post but not finish until I’m sure I have the time to proof it. But I always find an error when I re-read it on my Droid after hitting publish. I correct immediately. What will you do without the reader? Or do you consider BlogLovin the reader now?
I hate finding errors after I publish. Big rush to get it fixed! I’ve been using Bloglovin’ and The Old Reader as my reader now. I really like The Old Reader (very much like GReader) but there isn’t a mobile app yet, only via mobile browser, thus me hanging on to Bloglovin’
My too but I do and I fix immediately before I share on Twitter. I also use Tribber stream. I find a lot of good new posts there too. And I started with Bloglovin from your recommendation.
Awww both of my blog automatically post to twitter and facebook. Eek! So too late for that but I can still go back and edit and reshare. How do you like Bloglovin’?
I do but I’m not following enough of them in it yet. I have to go and look for some more and see who else is part of it. I like getting the email from them daily Thanks!
Good points, thanks for sharing. Sharing and commenting are two great moving things that keep on promoting our works)
Evan, do you have a routine that you follow regularly? Thanks for coming by Inspire to Thrive and have a great day!
