They can also see their audience’s engagement by the month. You will know which country your audiences come from, and which gender they are.

You can tell if your Pinterest impressions are up or down from the previous 30, or 60 days, and you can set your own custom time.

The Follow button lets people follow you on Pinterest and see things you save in their home feed. The Pin, board, and profile widgets help you showcase your Pinterest activity right on your website.

Of course, you could any social media share button plugin for a Pinterest share button too.

4. Pin Regularly For Pinterest Marketing

Pin regularly. The best way to gain traction with your Pinterest marketing is to pin regularly. Mix up the types of pins that you share so that people don’t get bored.

A good mix of content will keep people engaged and coming back for more.

So if you haven’t started using video pins, try to make one today. I love using Fliki to create video pins from blog posts in less than 5 minutes.

You can also edit the videos afterwards too.

6. Use Keywords For SEO

Keywords are important on Pinterest just like they are on other platforms such as Google and Bing. Use keywords in your pin descriptions and board names so that people can easily find your content when they are searching for something specific.

If you want your pins to be found by people searching on Pinterest, you need to use keywords. When creating a new pin, be sure to include relevant keywords in the title and description.

You can also add keywords to the “alt text” of your Pinterest images to help search engines understand what your pins are about.

  • I really need to begin Pinning my videos on Pinterest, Lisa. Crazy potential over there. Plus my YouTube shorts of nature, spanning roughly 15 seconds, are registering 100 to 1000 to 6000 views as of a few months ago. YouTube started to put most of my Shorts into their share stream via its algorithm. Time to Pin more videos to spread the word.

    Pinterest is one of my favorite social media platforms because of its ease in use and its expanding outreach.
    I get amazing result with the Pin It option at one of my blogs images where just putting this option helped me reshare my each post by several Pinterest users.

    One needs to be a little choosy while picking the top image of his blog post to display it at Pinterest with his post sharing because image quality wise image is so stiff there and one needs to put quality image to get the attention.

Pinterest won’t work well if you have lousy images on your blog.I’ve also read that images should have no more than 20% text on them. 736×490 works well too if you don’t have a vertical image.     I have a site where we sell wine racks and Pinterest is the logical social site to promote but I haven’t been clear on how to use Pinterest to it’s full potential, so this helps a lot.

    For the longest time I wondered if marketing on Pinterest was a good thing or not for my business? As a consultant, coach, and web designer I didn’t honestly believe that any of my target audience was there.

    I have a Pinterest account and I do post to whenever I write a new article, but other than that I kind of ignore it.

    But, after reading your blog article and then business insider I may have to reconsider? I know that women make up a lot of the growing small business owner community and that is my target audience. If they are hanging out here over LinkedIn or Google+ I then I suppose I ought to as well.

      Hi Akaahan, once you spend some time on it – it will become easy. I see you only have 1 board, I would add at least 10 and join some group boards too. Pin some stuff from bloggers you follow and things of interest.     I agree with you that people should focus on the relevant topics which are famous. Building connections is very important so that your followers will spread your pins by re-pinning them.

    Food, health and many other topic are very famous and people can use them in their pins so that they get more positive results.

    Pinterest is as interesting as any other social media platforms like Instagram. Pinterest has its own uniqueness and use in marketing. The fact that 80% of users are female, no wonder that classy images are used.

    Love the infographic, very detailed! I pin throughout the week but I can never make to the pin peak time on Saturday morning. By the time I get up do the first part of chores and get settled it’s almost noon :). I wish there would be a “schedule pin” button. That would be awesome!

    I’ve also started getting into the habit of using hashtags on the description of the pin. I haven’t checked out their analytics tool. I’m going to have to check it out. I remember seeing an email about my top pins. I need to go back and read it tonight.

    Carolyn said I should join more boards and pin things for bloggers but it’s never on my radar to do since I just haven’t been using Pinterest. I just haven’t had the time to jump in and find out really how it all works so this post will come in handy for when I do have the time.

      Hi Adrienne, I’m glad it’s still on your list TO DO. I get the time issue, believe me, I do! Yes, group boards are great to join and pin to. You can get new followers doing that as well. Of course commenting on pins too every now and then surely helps. I found after I reached 800 followers it just kept on going without any effort on my part and I now have over 3500 followers. I don’t spend a lot of time on it or use it daily. I do use it several times per week though. I like how you can share from there to Facebook and how they look there. (Not so on Twitter, almost useless)…You are welcome Adrienne and I’m sure after your product is complete you will have time to check it out more. (maybe)

  • Awesome infographic! Admittedly, Pinterest has never been a big traffic generator for me. I suppose niche has a big effect on how well Pinterest will serve you, and the niches mentioned in the infographic will convert the best. I’m working with one blogger who’s in the women’s fashion niche, and Pinterest is the main network she promotes on.

    It just goes to show that you should go where your target audience is!

    I really didn’t get what that new news feed is for. Here’s my news feed:

    – X followed John Doe and 18 other Pinners
    – Y likes 6 Pins
    – Z pinned 7 new Pins.
    – etc.

    I’ve no idea who (and why) might be interested in such so called news. But not me. It really bothers me. What bothers me even more is that the news tab is the default one. So when I want to see the old notifications section (the actual You tab), I need to make one more step.

    I tried to find a way to get rid of this wonderful news feed, or at least to make You the default tab, but I didn’t succeed. If you know the answer, pleeease help me 🙂

      Hi Adrian, LOL. I understand. I did prefer the YOU part of the newsfeed to see who is pinning your stuff and commenting. I believe Pinterest did it for brands to stand out more and to get more ad dollars from them in the future. I don’t know of a way yet Adrian, I just use the YOU version of it.     That was a wonderful infographic post 🙂

    Yes, most of the women are on Pinterest, though a lot of men are there too, but perhaps not as many as women, who just seem to be addicted to it – me included, if I don’t limit my time there!

    It’s one place where you posts stay the longest as compared to any other social networks, and that I know for being true as some of my old posts still get me daily traffic from there. These are posts that have already been pinned over 1500 times, so you can imagine how viral they can get.

    I did read about the new policy they would be coming up with, though nothing much to bother about if you know your way about. I guess if we are consistent and have our own networks, and are there like other social networks to share more of other’s post, nothing like it.
