7 Weird And Wonderful Ways To Get Your Business Noticed

As an entrepreneur, one of the most important tasks on your plate is to find creative ways to get your business noticed. After all, if few people know that you exist, then sales will be few and far between, which could lead to the demise of your company.

Web content, social media, customer service, and corporate events are all crucial elements of a successful marketing strategy, but, if you want to stand out from the crowd, then you need to think a little bigger.

With that in mind, here are weird and wonderful ways you could promote your brand and get your business noticed today.

Why It Is Harder Today To Get Attention For Your Business

Getting your business noticed today can be tough. With everyone on social media, the noise is overwhelming. Every platform is filled with ads and content, all vying for attention.

Consumers have short attention spans and skip anything they don’t find interesting in seconds. The digital shift has made everything more saturated.

Small businesses compete with big brands that can afford huge marketing budgets. People are bombarded with hundreds of messages daily, making it hard for any single one to stand out.

You need unique strategies to cut through the clutter to get your business noticed.. How do you make sure your message isn’t just another drop in the ocean?

1. Give Out Free Merchandise

Everyone loves a giveaway, whether they necessarily need the freebie on offer or not. This means that, when a business gives out something for free, we tend to remember them for a little while.

The truck pictured below shows their logo on their truck during a recent parade where businesses gave out things to the crowd as they drove by.

One local bank gave away pine trees for kids to plant. Others gave away candy and toys with their logo on them.

To make this attention last even longer, you should offer something that lasts too.

Stationary, stickers, and drawstring bags are all popular options, as they’re useful, affordable to make, and easy to plaster a logo on. Jumping on a trend, like fidget spinners, can work well too.

2. Help Out A Charity

Helping charities is a win-win situation. The organization that you choose to help gets the funding and awareness that they need, and you show your company to be one that cares about more than just money.

Depending on your fundraising idea, you may even attract the attention of the media, earning you some extra publicity.

With the help of effective Spotify promotion, you could even get these songs onto playlists. If your audience enjoys and listens to your music, then they’ll constantly be reminded of your business. Now, that’s a different idea, right?

Of course you can add the music to your Instagram stories as well now.

3. Make Your Own Music to Get Your Business Noticed

While larger companies can afford to license popular tracks, smaller businesses are often stuck using boring background music for their adverts and marketing videos.

If you have some musical talent, however, you could make your own and post it to streaming sites, like Spotify.

Wrapping your car is an effective way to increase brand exposure. After all, it is likely to be seen by hundreds, if not thousands of people every single day.

While simply displaying your logo and web address can work, you may want to get a little more creative.

Ideally, your vehicle should be so eye-catching that people want to take pictures of it and share them. From cars, you can move on to even bigger subjects, like entire buildings, landmarks, and other places that get attention.

5. Let Customers Choose Prices To Get Your Business Noticed

Business owners set prices for a very good reason. Even when they offer cash back, they need to make enough money to cover overheads and earn a profit.

Because of this, the idea of letting your customers choose what they pay can be quite daunting.

After all, there is always the chance that everyone will pay too little. However, this is very unlikely.

Most customers won’t want to appear cheap or greedy, and as such will probably pay you even more than what you would have charged yourself.

6. Repurpose Your Old Content

Posting blog content gives people a reason to return to your business website again and again. If you’ve been blogging for quite some time now, then you probably have lots of content growing stagnant from months or years ago.

Rather than leaving these posts to fester, you should hunt them out and give them a polish. By turning this content into a video, podcast, or something else, you can drive traffic back to your site, attracting new visitors, as well as existing ones.

7. Create A Fun Challenge To Get Your Business Noticed

With shows like Bizarre Foods and Man Vs. Food on the air, we all know how popular food challenges can be. They are a fun and effective way to bring business to a restaurant or other eatery.

Therefore, depending on your rules, can make a lot of money.

Even if you don’t own a food joint, however, you can still create a challenge of your own. Gyms can host weight lifting competitions, bookstores can run a reading challenge, and toy stores can challenge little ones to quizzes.

In Conclusion: Creative Ways To Get Your Business Noticed

With so many businesses out there, you need to think outside the box to get your brand noticed. There are many creative and innovative ways to go about this.

So even if the ideas above can’t help you, there is still plenty that you can do to have your business stand out from the crowd.

    1. Hi Esther, Thank you. What point motivated you the most? Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment here. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

  2. Hi Lisa,
Yet another wonderful post with a lot of applicable strategies to get your business known. Some of the strategies I am following already.

Few are yet to try like, “Help to charity”, and “Make Your Own Music to Get Your Business Noticed” (this is really an interesting one).

Tip #4 is yet another interesting one: Slap On An Eye-Catching Logo, yes placing it on the car, etc will surely get noticed by many even in thousands as you mentioned, but unless your URL is notified along with it, I am sure many can make it to the page.

I tried this on our car’s back window only the URL not with a logo, also I placed this on the back of my bike too.

Repurposing is indeed a better option to get more mileage in this aspect.
Thanks for sharing these strategies. I found this on the pages of Bizsugar and I up-voted it and commented.

    Best Regards

    ~ Phil

    1. Hi Philip, thank you. How did that work out for you – having on the back your car and bike? That is something I need to do myself. You are most welcome and I really appreciate your shares Philip. Have a great day.

      1. Thanks, Lisa, for the quick response. Not much difference I could find, but I am sure someone somewhere will surely have a peep at it! But it cannot be traced out, so far no one directly responded to me in this regard! Anyways that is for sure a good publicity! Try it!
        Thanks

  3. These are great ideas. There are some that I want to do… but… … …

    For instance… I don’t own a car :(… I own a bike …. how can I marketize my bike
I’ll have to bookmark this page for future reference…
    Thanks,

    1. Hi Engin, you could have pictures with you on the bike.and doing something with your business in the photo or your logo on the bike. I hope that helps give you more ideas. Thanks for coming by and enjoy the weekend!

  4. Lily @ FindingBalance.Mom

Great post Lisa! Love all the ideas.

One of my favorite ways to generate buzz around a business is to build a free tool.

Neil Patel – Ubersuggest, Baby Diaper Company – Baby Percentile Calculator… stuff like that.

It works so well to generate constant buzz, backlinks too.

    1. Thanks Lily. Welcome to Inspire To Thrive. Yes, Neil really came up with a great tool we can all use for FREE. I wonder if he will do a premium version as well in the near future. Wouldn’t blame him to make a little more money, right? Thanks for coming by and have a nice weekend Lily.

  5. I love the free merch idea. I also love wearing my Blogging From Paradise t-shirt around the world. I recall a Scottish guy I met at JFK before flying to Thailand. He spotted the shirt and domain name, asked me a few questions and a few moments later I had a reader. Awesome sauce way to get the word out.

    1. Hi Ryan, yes, you are always showing who you are. Your personality shines right through! I have one shirt I wear occasionally but need to ramp that one up. I have a catalog to look through to see what will work best with my logo for this Spring and Summer. That is so cool about that in the airport! Wow, I hope you wrote about that one? Thanks for sharing that one here Ryan. Do have a great day and weekend ahead there!
