Have you wondered how content creators on X make money? It’s not easy, if it was everyone would be doing it, right? I wanted to learn how these people are making money by posting on X as I love posting on X.
Todays’ content creators on X are finding new ways to turn their followers into financial support, and it’s easier than you might think to do the same. Whether you’re just starting or already have a strong presence, there’s potential to monetize your content right now.
I’m working on learning how this works on my favorite social network and am sharing my findings with you on Inspire To Thrive.

Understanding the Monetization Landscape on X
X has evolved into much more than a place for sharing thoughts in 280 characters; it’s become a legitimate way to earn money. From direct support to brand collaborations, there are plenty of options.
According to recent reports, X has seen significant growth in users turning their activity into income streams, particularly with features introduced over the last few years. I’ve seen many content creators on X sharing their revenue reports and some even quitting their day jobs.
Engagement of Premium Users of X Twitter
X is shaking up how content creators on X can earn money. Until now, creators received a share of ad revenue based on how many verified users saw ads in replies to their posts. But starting today, payments will depend on “engagement with your content from Premium users.”
Basically, the more people subscribe to X Premium and interact with content from other Premium members, the more earnings creators can expect. At least, that’s the idea.
In reality, I think this will probably lead to more Premium users showing up in replies than they already do. Premium subscribers currently get priority placement in replies, with the level of priority tied to their X Premium tier.
Content Creators on X Making Money by Creator Revenue Sharing
- You need at least 500 premium X followers
- Have 500,000 impressions within 3 months time
- Be verified by subscribing to X premium (the old blue checkmark)
The hardest part of it for me is to generate 500,000 impressions but as I’ve been engaging more instead of mostly posting on the network, it has brought that level up for me in just a few days.
Subscription Models for Content Creators on X
Subscription-based models like Super Follows give X Twitter creators a direct way to earn from their biggest fans. Subscribers pay a monthly fee in exchange for exclusive perks like behind-the-scenes content, early access, or personalized interactions.
This setup benefits both sides—creators earn steady income, and supporters feel more connected and valued.
Not only does this provide a reliable stream of revenue, but it also strengthens the bond between creators and their audience. If people value your insights, humor, or commentary, setting up a subscription could be an excellent option.
I’ve recently subscribed to 2 creators. I’m learning a lot from one in particular named Alex Finn.
Not only is Alex Finn inspiring to follow but he teaches a community how to earn on X.
Hi Alex, since I've subscribed to you I've seen my X analytics increase quite a bit.

It's easy for me to share my success and failure.
Just not used to touting my own horn. I will have to get on that one. 📯
The Finn Family Community
Alex Finn has a community on X Twitter of over 4,000 active members. It is a community for people looking to grow on X and beyond. Ran by Alex Finn is has regular tweet reviews, Spaces, and live streams can be found in his community
As I was engaging with others in the community yesterday I came up with an image from Grok AI as you can see below: I asked Grok AI to create an image of the Finn Success Secret Sauce. That’s another benefit of premium+ is that you can use Grok AI to create content on the platform.
Affiliate Marketing On X Twitter
If you are an affiliate marketer like I am you can use X Twitter to promote your affiliate products. However, I have found that I do much better when I rank on Google’s first page.
Ranking on Google cannot be a method that will make you infinite money as you know how the algorithm changes there every day now. So don’t rely on it but strive to rank your affiliate posts on the big search engines.
People tend to buy more when they are searching for answers than scrolling on X or any other social media platform. However, you can do ads on X to promote your products and services or affiliate products.
I’ve done X ads and they do work pretty well and are evolving as the network does. I even have an X Twitter ad rep today from X which is a new tactic by the company.
Building an Engaging Content Strategy on X
To start making money, you need a strategy. Earning on X isn’t just about having a big account; it’s about creating content people care about.
When your posts strike a chord, opportunities will follow. People will begin to engage more with you and some people will follow you on X.
Don’t shune the small accounts or even the unverified ones. You never know when someone will decide to become verified on X Twitter or grow into a larger account.
Knowing Your Audience
Ask yourself this: who’s following you, and why? Understanding your audience is the foundation of any successful strategy.
Know what type of content they engage with most. For instance, if you’re attracting tech enthusiasts, focus on reviews or updates in that space.
Cater your posts to your niche, and you’ll watch your followers stick around and grow.
Consistency and Quality For Content Creators on X
Consistency builds trust. People love accounts they can count on to post regularly. That doesn’t mean you should spam the feed—quality matters even more. Posts that are thought-provoking, useful, or entertaining always perform better on X.
Content Creators on X don’t need to post all day long, but developing a predictable rhythm will keep their audience engaged and eager for their next post.
What has changed is that posting more often doesn’t work like it used it. It’s more about the quality over quantity today on X.
Utilizing Multimedia Content For Content Creators on X
Multimedia posts see higher engagement than plain text. Use images, GIFs, or short videos to grab attention as people scroll. Polls are another great way to interact directly with your followers as many content creators on X ask thought-provoking questions.
Just be careful not to use engagement farming tactics on X. You could lose your account over it.
The more people engage with your posts, the more valuable your account becomes for potential partnerships or monetization features.
Tools and Resources for Content Creators on X
Success on X gets a little easier with the right tools. From analytics to planning, you don’t have to do it all manually. Here are some of the best options to grow your X account:
Analytics Tools
Keeping track of your performance is essential to growth. Tools like X’s in-app analytics or external platforms like Circleboom show you engagement stats, follower trends, and more.
Use this data to understand what works and what doesn’t. Over time, these insights will help you fine-tune your strategy.
Content Scheduling Apps
A consistent schedule gets easier with tools like Buffer or TweetDeck. These apps let you plan posts in advance, so you’re not scrambling to create something daily.
You can take one hour to schedule a week’s worth of content, giving you more time to focus on creativity and engaging with others on the X platform.
Tips for Aspiring Content Creators on X
If you’re just starting out, don’t feel overwhelmed. Every successful content creator on X started from zero. Here are a few simple steps to help you hit the ground running.
Networking with Other Creators
Engage with others in your niche. Comment on their posts, share valuable replies, and start conversations. Networking isn’t just about connections—it also boosts your visibility as people start recognizing you on their feed.
Plus, collaborating with other creators helps you reach new audiences.
Lastly, make sure you profile picture is real and your profile information is up to date. I see so many profiles today with animated or art deco profile pictures.
Learning from Successful Content Creators on X
Pay attention to what’s working for the top content creators on X in your space. What kind of posts perform best for them? How are they interacting with their community?
While you shouldn’t copy anyone’s style, studying successful strategies can show you what resonates and inspire ideas for your own content.
I’m noticing that text only posts work the best today. However, I still mix up my posts on X and believe you should do the same. People love seeing photos and videos so they can relate to you.
Make Video Content
Video is going to become big on the X Twitter network. Elon Musk has talked about it over and over. He wants to compete with YouTube. He recently launched a TV app for watching videos.
Not only that but X CEO Linda Yaccarino stated that the platform is shifting its focus toward being centered on video content.
Now, that won’t happen overnight so you have some time to practice. Practice doing video and share with others on X.
The more you do it, the more comfortable you will get making videos. Many content creators on X are afraid to get in front of the camera, so get ahead of the curve.
Conclusion: Content Creators on X Making Money
Monetizing your presence on X is no longer just for influencers with massive followings. By understanding the available tools, creating engaging content, and keeping a consistent strategy, you too can turn your profile into a source of income.
