In recent years, the number of methods of communicating with your online audience has exploded. You now have far more options than you ever did in the past; it’s almost dizzying.
A lot of companies try to avoid this complexity by choosing a single channel to address their customers and sticking with it.
But unfortunately, what seems like a sensible time-saving strategy like that doesn’t work any longer in the modern world. Audiences now expect brands to be available through multiple channels of their choosing, meaning that a single-minded approach is no longer feasible.
The problem with this from the company’s perspective, of course, is that it’s hard to organize and manage multiple channels at once. You’re spending all your time opening and closing various accounts, posting different messages. It’s exhausting.
In this post, I will take a look at some of the strategies that you can use to embrace multi-channel digital marketing before it embraces you.

The first step is to create content that you can post on all your social media channels.
The best approach here is to create videos. Not only are they the most powerful way to communicate with customers on a personal level, but most platforms support them. (unlike plain images or text).
I love to use Rumble with YouTube as you can pick which videos to choose from each or both networks together. Anything to save some time, right?

Once you’ve created your content, look for software that allows you to post across multiple sites. The best platforms are from a single dashboard. Hence, the purpose of these apps is to save you time. They prevent you from having to continually switch tabs or manually upload your content.
You just connect them to your social media accounts, configure how you’d like to post, and the software will do the rest.

One of the benefits of working with a digital marketing agency is that they continually show you new digital marketing opportunities. Remember, the internet isn’t a static place.
Therefore, companies are innovating all the time. Trying to set up new platforms that make it possible for people to network online.
As an individual company, it can be hard to keep up with these developments and know which you should pursue. But by partnering with a marketing agency, you can get the inside scoop. Therefore, you can take short-cuts to the best multi-channel approaches.

Knowing where your customers are coming from is essential when designing a multi-channel marketing strategy. There’s no point spending all your advertising dollars on Facebook if the vast majority of your customers are coming through Amazon or Google search.
Think carefully about the most likely location for your customers. Don’t just look at your existing traffic flows and assume that they represent the organic origins of customers.
However, you could just be getting a lot of customers through a particular platform because you’re advertising there.
Working out where your customers are coming from and where they should originate, usually requires doing a little competitor stalking. You need to figure out the most natural channels, so you know which to pursue.

Happy New Year’s Lisa!
Super message for the new year my friend. I am embracing multi-channel marketing to remain nimble. I spoke to my uncle a few hours ago. We always have great, productive chats whenever I visit him and my family in North Carolina. He has sold over 300,000 books online since 1995, even going against titan Jeff Bezos during his early days of Amazon. Dude always has me exploring other channels, avenues and strategies for expanding my reach. He owns 6 magazines and runs a podcast interviewing the likes of folks who signed Elton John. Definite mover and shaker, and he keeps opening those channels each year, it seems. Impressive study in persistence and flexibility.
Ryan
Thanks Ryan, Happy New Year to you and Kelli! That’s so cool to hear about your uncle. That’s a lot of book sales! Wow, he sounds like one busy man as well Ryan. Thanks for your input on this one and great to hear about your uncle. I hope you have a fabulous 2021!
