Copromly – A New Way To Increase Traffic To Your Blog

Copromly May Increase Traffic By 10x ReachCopromly

Are you always looking for new ways to increase traffic to your blog? Recently I received a LinkedIn message about a new way to increase blog traffic.  I just had to check it out. It appeared quite interesting to use. The new website is called Copromly and it’s an e-Magazine format.  It is the first of a new generation of tools. The site uses the combined social influence of a group of collaborators for their mutual benefit.  It is an easy site to submit to and share content from.

What Are The 5 Steps To Make Copromly Work For You?

Example of using Compromly

  1. Pick a post from your own blog to share on Copromly. You will have to enter a URL, a title and url for an image.
  2. You will receive a personal e-Magazine featuring your post and other posts from other bloggers.
  3. Other bloggers will promote their e-magazine with your post included in it.
  4. Share your e-magazine (very important!) via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and emails. You can even embed one in your own blog or website.
  5. For every view of your magazine you get 10 views of your post’s thumbnail in other bloggers’ e-magazine. how it looks

If you register today for Copromly you will never have to pay for their services again. They are currently in beta. (That means the software for their site is still being tested. They test the website to work out the bugs before a full launch.)  Isn’t that a great way to try the new features out? You will never have to pay once they charge for their services if you sign up now. They make their own money via advertising on their website.

What Other Websites Seem Similar to Compromly?

Scoop it – A curating content website that lets your share posts via various social networks. This site is very similar on how it looks and works.

BizSugar -This website is similar in that you share others content. You can upload your own blog posts for likes and shares on this network and other social networks as well.

Stumble Upon – This is another similar type of site (social bookmarking) that also looks a lot like Compromly.

What Is Not On This Site?

Engagement – I do not see how to engage with other bloggers on this site. I would have said it’s similar to Kingged.com but there is not way to engage yet with other bloggers on this new website. That is one feature I would recommend they try to incorporate into their new site.

Do you like testing out new websites and services that are in beta? Have you used this one yet?

I’d love to know what you think in the comments of this new website!

  • Hello Lisa,

Thank you for this! I had never heard of Copromly before. I’m going to give it a try.

  • Hi Lisa,

Never heard of this service. In the first instance I thought that it’s something good. But then I checked it and read (well, sort of) the magazine that they feature as an example.

All I can say is… Stay away!

That’s a link farm and if nothing changes, sooner or later Google will get it. It’s obvious that such a “magazine” is not for the readers – you won’t really get traffic from that sort of thing. The magazine is a mess. Different languages, lots of different topics. From social media tips, handbags, photography, to football, car insurance and many other topics. All in the same so called magazine. That’s not a magazine. That’s an ad sheet.

I wonder how the users promote their magazines… “Want to kill your time? A great sea of ads and various articles on various topics and written in different languages that you may not understand… is waiting for you!” 🙄

    Sorry, but that’s my opinion…

    Adrian

P.S. I’ve noticed one of your articles there. Next to a guitar strings ad. You don’t really want it there!

    • Thanks Adrian for your input – I will keep an eye out on this one for sure and do a follow up. It will be included in my what works and what doesn’t post coming soon. I will also email them and see if they make any changes – like categories, etc. Like Kingged does on theirs. Have you visted their site as well? Curious to know your opinion on that one too Adrian.
      Thanks!

      • Hi Lisa,

I’m not very sure what site is your question referring to.

If you’re referring to Copromly, I found on their website the link to the magazine mentioned in my previous comment. So, yes, I have visited the site.

My guess is that you’re referring to Kingged. I didn’t visit it recently. What I remember is a site like BizSugar that had a huge loading time. Slower than 97% of all tested sites by Pingdom. Awful. The screen capture of that result can still be seen by anyone who checks the pictures I shared on Twitter. Since I don’t like to waste my time waiting, I didn’t register. A few months ago someone told me that they will update the servers, but I don’t know whether they did it or not.

As for Copromly introducing categories so that you can have an IM magazine that includes only IM articles, well, that would be a good change indeed 🙂

    • Hi Adrian,

I’m one of the co-founders at Copromly and I found your comments very interesting.

I would like to make it clear that Copromly is NOT a link farm. By definition (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_farm) a link farm is any group of web sites that all hyperlink to every other site in the group. We don’t ask you to link your blog to any other blog, or to the magazine. There is just one link going from the magazine to every user’s blog. This one-site-linking-to-many-sites structure is exactly the same that Pinterest, Stumbleupon, Wikipedia and many other content repositories have. Needless to say, it’s perfectly legal, Google-compliant and that if anything, it increases your SEO since you get a new back link to your blog.

Having said that, I agree when you say that right now our magazine is not optimized for readers. Please, remember that we are in beta, and therefore what you see right now is not all we have planned for Copromly.

First we wanted to test if the average blogger is willing to promote a magazine featuring other blog posts through her social channels. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results. You guys really understand that helping each other grow is one of the best ways to increase your own audience.

The next step is to organize the contents of our magazine in categories (and languages too) and to add some content curation mechanisms to ensure that readers find it both, entertaining and engaging.

Of course, you are all invited to send us feedback and ideas to info@copromly.com.

      Miguel

      • Hi Miguel, thank you for coming by and explaning more about your website. Interesting on the defination of a link farm too – thank you for clarifying that one. Yes, some may not have realized that you are still in BETA – good point to remind everyone reading this. I will be looking forward to the upcoming changes as you go along Miguel, thanks so much for letting us all know and giving us your email as well. It is much appreciated.
Lisa recently posted..Do You Know Your Social Media Etiquette Today? My Profile

      • Hi Miguel,

Thank you for the explanation. Let me clarify my comment.

        1) I didn’t pretend that your site is illegal, so there’s no point in emphasizing that it’s legal 😉 [Breaking the law and breaking the guidelines of a private company… are very much different]

        2) I’ve seen many stupid definitions on Wikipedia, so please excuse me, I won’t check that link. However, I admit that link farm may not be the best term for your magazines. So let me clarify it…

The point is that the ACTUAL magazine is a mixture of languages and topics. Not targeted to readers. Obvious for everyone except for the people who created that beta version 😉 Usually that type of page is a link farm. Have you ever actually seen a link farm? It looks exactly like your magazines. Links to tons of not related topics on a page that isn’t targeted to readers 😉

But forget the link farm label, name it whatever you like to name it. The name actually doesn’t really matter.

Irrespective of the name (link farm or any other term), a magazine like the one I’ve seen isn’t targeted to readers. That’s the important point, not the term I used for it.

If it’s not for readers, that may lead some people – including me – to the conclusion that it’s something we don’t want to be part of.

        3) Your term “one-site-linking-to-many-sites structure” is fine, but it’s not related to your magazine. Your magazine has the structure one-PAGE-linking-to-many-UNRELATED-sites. That’s different.

Right now your magazine looks like a Pinterest board where a dummy user pins everything, any topic, instead of creating more boards. There are such users on Pinterest. But they are exceptions. On your website, the mess-magazine as it is right now isn’t the exception but the rule. When there are weird exceptions, we all think “that’s how life it is”. When everything is weird, without exceptions, we cannot stop thinking, “Oops, something is fishy here” 😉

        4) Please don’t mislead the readers of this blog (“it increases your SEO since you get a new back link to your blog.”). Not any back link is a good back link. I hope you know that. You don’t have to be an SEO expert to know it. Just check the latest changes on Google’s algo. A backlink may or may NOT be a good back link.

Right now I consider it a bad back link. But I don’t know the truth. You don’t know it either, don’t lie to yourself. We can find the truth only if you don’t change anything and we wait for Google’s reaction. Does it pay to wait? I don’t think so.

The best way to move forward is to make the magazines for readers. Everyone including you will gain from such a change. It’s an obvious one 😉

        • Hi Adrian, thanks for your in-depth response and great questions along the way. I do see your point on #4 – I don’t think any of us really know anymore as Google is changing things so quickly and it’s always a gray issue vs a black and white issue.
Lisa recently posted..Do You Know Your Social Media Etiquette Today? My Profile

        • Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your in-depth comments.

I’ll start with your last sentence: “the best way to move forward is to make the magazines for readers”. I couldn’t agree more with you.

We want to make of Copromly a great place to discover awesome content, and that implies setting up mechanisms for both, content curation and categorization, something that you’ve already mentioned in a previous response.

Regarding the link-farm label, I realize now that you are using the term as a way to describe your perception concerning the looks of the magazine, not to actually imply that Copromly has anything to do with a link farm. That’s great, we go back to the need of having a magazine targeted to readers, where we totally agree.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind anyone reading this that right now we are in BETA. If you are expecting a finished mainstream product like Pinterest, I think it’s better if you wait a few months until you hear from us again from another source before giving it a try.

If you like experimenting with new (but unfinished and probably buggy) technology before your neighbour does, and you like the idea of helping other bloggers grow while growing your own audience, then you are an early adopter like Lisa and we’d love to have you on board. And as a reward for your time and valuable feedback you’ll have Copromly free for life 😀

  • Sounds great, Lisa. I remember how excited I was when Kingged launched (and the amazing traffic it brought – and still brings). Trying never kills…I am on this – and sincerely, I appreciate the share.

Make the day a nice one.

    Always,

This idea is great that they will place all the similar post at one page and whoever will promote it actually be promoting all the posts there. It is called community promotion where all have to promote each other if they want to promote their own products.

  • Hey Lisa,

Ah, another site coming on the scene…

Okay, I have a confession to make. I don’t like sites like this. I don’t like ScoopIt or Paperli either. People say it gets you in front of more people and I don’t really agree with the content curation part of it either. Now I get that our content can possibly be seen by people who haven’t seen it before or heard of us but how many people really visit all those posts from every single site like this that they see? Who has the time right! It’s hard enough keeping up with what our friends and other influencers share. I kind of think it’s overkill but if it works for some people then of course I say all the more power to ya.

I appreciate you introducing it though. I did land on a site yesterday and it looked exactly like this which is why I was scratching my head because the girl’s link I was clicking on, this did not look like her site but I thought she just changed her layout. It really confused me so now I know exactly what it is.

Thanks Lisa and have a great day and an enjoyable weekend.

Lisa recently posted..Copromly – A New Way To Increase Traffic To Your BlogMy Profile

    • Hi Majharul, I don’t think that Copromly is similar to link sharing at all (disclosure: I’m one of Copromly’s co-founders 😉 ).

We don’t ask bloggers to exchange links or to link to our magazine. There’s just a site (i.e., a magazine) linking to many sites (i.e., blogs), just like any other content site (e.g., Flipboard, Visual.ly, Wikipedia, Pinterest).

You can have an Adsense account and even run an AdWords campaign on your Pinterest board. You can do exactly the same with Copromly, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

  • Ryan nice meeting you here. Lisa lovely concept. But I feel there are lots of social medium we can deliver our content.

I for one would have loved to join them now but am trying to build up my other channels and ensure engagement on them.

Hopefully when I can outsource some of the things I do myself I will certainly look at adding more social platform to my plate.
