Why Becoming More Efficient in Your Business is Essential Today

Becoming More Efficient in Your Business

Your company may be running smoothly, but if you are completely honest with yourself, there is always room for improvement. Creating a working environment that runs well and operates smoothly and efficiently is something all business owners should strive for.

Being confident in not only your ability to get the job done but that of the company as a whole can help you push barriers and take your business to the next level.

Automate Your Business

Why continue to do everything manually when there are processes available that can help you automate tasks and free up your workload?

Once the monotonous functions have been taken care of, then you will free up the time for not only yourself and your team but make life easier for clients too. All the information you need will be automatically collated and at hand when you need it.

Today, there are more tools than ever to help you automate many processes.

Outsource is a Great Way of Becoming More Efficient in Your Business

Outsourcing is a small company’s best friend. No one wants to lose time being stuck in the mud doing the mundane tasks when you could be out there doing what you do best. There is a finite number of hours in the day and try as you might; one person cannot do everything all the time.

Outsource tasks that don’t need your explicit attention such as website maintenance, HR, accounting and emails replies or call handling.

Look for innovative ways you can source systems outside of your company to help you deliver what you need to when you need to. Be it data, presentations or physical products.

Look at edi shipping solutions to help you manage your shipping needs in a way that benefits your company and your clients too.

Becoming More Efficient in Your Business Means to Delegate

You have probably heard the phrase “if you want something done well, do it yourself”This doesn’t apply in business. Or it shouldn’t need to. Delegate to your team members and reduce your workload by focussing on what you need to do without any distractions.

Pull-on your skills and those of your staff to help you deliver these results in the best way for you and your customers.

Integrate apps that are built for business and allow them to streamline how you converse and delegate. Then, collaborate on projects and tasks that need completing. Here at Inspire To Thrive, we use Agorapulse for that to work on social media tasks.

Sharing the workload can help you to see new ideas in new ways and bring more innovation to what you can achieve and deliver.

Limit Interruptions to be More Efficient

Remove any unwanted distractions and consolidate tasks that need to be completed. Create a workspace that induces productivity and make sure you are focussed on the task at hand. Flitting from one thing to another will only create distraction and confusion and allow things to slip through the net.

Focus your time and resources on one thing and don’t deviate until it is completed. Batch your tasks into different compartments; for example, email replies, follow up calls, creating graphics.

This will help you to make sure everything is taken care of at once, and nothing slips through the cracks.

For me, I turn off all notifications on social media as I’m working on projects. There is nothing more annoying than hearing notifications going off all the time. I also turn the noise of them off at night when I go to bed.

  • Hi Lisa,
Great advice as usual! For me, I automate my Facebook Pages so that there is constant information on a particular subject. But most of all, I like to delegate different things from my dog walker and other household tasks, to having my husband edit everything I write. The editing part always takes me too much time so I have him do it for me. (I know…lucky gal and I appreciate his help). I find that many people try to do everything themselves and get stuck in the mud of going forward. We have to find solutions like automation and delegation in order to move forward.

    • Hi Donna, That’s awesome that you have someone truly in-house to edit your work! Very lucky indeed. I agree, I have 3 freelancers now and it has helped tremendously with some creative work as I was getting stale with a few clients work. Now it’s refreshed and doing great. I thinking moving around the assignments will be key going forward. Thanks for coming by and hope your eye is doing well Donna.

    • Thank you Moss 🙂 Oh yes, I’m doing more of that and it helps with creativity as well. After being creative on specific accounts for 2 years it was nice to see others get more creative! I think I may mix them all up from time to time. I appreciate your input and have a great day!
