Rafflecopter Is So Easy – Why Haven’t You Used It?
Using Rafflecopter Is So Easy!
That’s the question I’ve been asking myself since I used it for this blog’s anniversary giveaway. Afterwards I thought, why hadn’t I used Rafflecopter sooner? So if you have been on the fence I wanted to share with you how easy it really is to use.
Using Rafflecopter is one of the easiest things I’ve done online. I had seen it on various blogs but Dvr Dame really inspired me with her contest. That was the turning point for me to use it on the blog’s anniversary. And I will be using it again. Hint, hint!
So all you do is sign up at Rafflecopter. Fill in your email and set-up a password. You then decide when and for long to run the contest. You can then add things you want readers to do for points – ie: Like your Facebook page, follow you on Twitter, Follow you on Pinterest, Pin a Pin there, etc.
It’s up to you to decide and Rafflecopter fills out the rest. You can log in anytime to see if anyone has entered and check back often as you want. When the contest is over, this is the best part, THEY pick out the winner. I love that. I don’t want to seem partial to anyone.
After you have filled out all the info- Rafflecopter creates a code to put on your website, Embed it and you are done! You may not see it in preview until you hit publish. Want to reach more entries? Put your giveaway on giveaway websites like Online Sweepstakes, Contest Girl, Win Prizes Online and many more you can search for.
There was one “little” thing – One person won twice so I went back in to Rafflecopter and it picked another winner —> Sonia Winland of Logallot – Congratulations Sonia! A 1 year membership to Blog Engage!
Have you done any or many giveaways on your blog or website?

Seems like a great lil program! Thanks for the tips! Congrats to Sonia!
It is Brenda, so easy too! Hope you enjoy your Blog Engage membership.
Informative post Lisa!
I always did wonder as to how people held such wonderful contests and now I know that it was due to Rafflecopter. It does seem easy enough, though once you set it up and operate it, you would know for real – isn’t it?
I like the option where the winner is chosen by them itself, so that there is no bias or thoughts in anyone’s mind. I do need to check it out for more details. And I would surely be bookmarking this page and using it up whenever I have contests or giveaways at my blogs.
Thanks for sharing about Rafflecopter with all of us.

Hi Harleena, yes it was easy and I had wondered too for quite some time and thought it would be too time consuming. Boy, was I wrong. It was quick and easy. You are welcome and thanks for coming by and commenting today.
Hi Lisa,
It’s like outsourcing a contest, right?
Really cool as it does its job without our input or something. I know, the hardest part is coming up with winners. If we pick up them manually, we may feels that others will think about how did we pick up winners. Else, we may need to justify and pick up winners. But as Raflecopter responsible on that, no worries
Thanks for introducing this one Lisa
It will make the contests more easy.
Nice to see Sonia as a winner too
Congratulations Sonia…
Cheers…

Yes Mayura, that’s right. Thanks for coming by and checking it out today and commenting.
I don’t usually host contests. If I did, I’d definitely consider using Rafflecopter. Congratulations to Sonia on winning a year’s subscription to BlogEngage. That’s a great prize!

Hi Lauren, Loved your post on the sock!!! Maybe you could give away a pair of socks….Thanks for coming by, much appreciated.
Thanks Lisa.
But I’ve only got one sock for every pair. : )
Have you written any posts on Twitter etiquette? I know the basics but am clueless when it comes to responding to retweets and mentions.
Lauren recently posted..Have You Seen This Sock?
Hi Lauren, yes, actually I have a slideshare —> http://www.slideshare.net/lisapatb/twitter-tips-for-newbies-12234612 and you can check out the Twitter Resources page here too: http://inspiretothrive.com/twitter-resources/
I need to try it I usually use another site but I will be doing this one for my next giveaway. Thanks for the info
Kita recently posted..Thanks to everyone
Hi Kita, yes it is easy to do. Thanks for coming by today.
You know I love Rafflecopter!
Yes, Candice you have some awesome giveaways!
Hi Lisa-
I use Rafflecopter for all my give aways now. I love it! It makes running a give away contest so much easier. I just finished up a give away of Twist ‘n Clips and will be doing another one next week to give away 5 bottles of Natural Bliss Cream and a box of instant cappucino
Michelle recently posted..Mamavation Finalists Excitement and Getting More Sleep
Those sound nice Michelle, how do you get products to do them? Thanks for commenting.
Some products I purchase myself – it’s usually something I REALLY like and just have to share
However, most of my products I get from sponsors. I made quite a few connections at BlogHer12 and have 3 sponsored give aways!
I also will write about products that I like and somehow it gets back to the creators/owners. Such was the case of the Twist ‘N Clip. The creator, Rachel sent me boxes of the hair accessories to do with what I like. I kept some and gave away others.

Hi Michelle, that is awesome. I have done a few but owners did not do much with it yet. I’ll have to be more clever. Thanks for answering. Have a wonderful day.
Hi Lisa.
Maybe I should do giveaways, but of what? If I would write an E-book I would be giving it away anyways…
I am thinking off different means to use rafflecopter. For just a poll it seems to be a bit ‘overdone’
Hi Jan, an E-Book would be great! I’ve been thinking of one but not sure if I can spare the time yet. I should do a little at a time.
I guess you’re right. I’m always planning, but there is just so much to do and so little time…
I hear you Jan, sometimes it’s all too much
Just remember, tomorrow is another day.
Lisa: Thanks for sharing the info on Rafflecopter! What a fantastic way to generate buzz about you/your site/your business! Plus, you’re giving away something of value to the lucky winner which makes it all the better. I do like the fact that you can preset all the parameters & then sit back and allow the software to choose the winner…alleviating any hint of favoritism. Great information & a great business tool!
Me too Lynn, I love that it chooses the winners. Thanks for coming by and commenting today.
Hi Lisa, thanks for the info about refflecopter.
May I ask you 2 questions about it?
1) Where do you place info about your contest (except Online Sweepstakes – (it’s not working at the moment), Contest Girl, Win Prizes Online)?
2) did you use only default actions (for example follow on Twitter, like on Facebook) or have prepared something specific for your site?
Thanks in advance for your answer!

Hi Chris,
1) There are many if you google them – http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/ , http://www.winprizesonline.com/ and many more!
2) No, you can add other things to it and be more specific.
Hope it helps!
Hi Lisa, thanks for your answer, I really appreciate it!

Chris recently posted..Make Money Blogging – Is it Really Possible?
Hi Lisa. I do get the point that using RFC is totally free, but have you given a try to a plugin called Contest Domination? It accepts entries ONLY through signing up to your email list! Isn’t that great?
Hi Raaj, I’m not crazy about adding anymore plug-ins, too many can slow the sites down. With Rafflecopter you could have them sign up or email to get extra points to win. (which is a good idea: )
I’ve run into that problem too, I think it has something to do with some choice when you create the widget. Blargh…brain death. *lol* Can’t wait to see what else you offer in the future.
Thanks Susan, yes you were a winner thanks to Rafflecopter
I definitely appreciate when bloggers use Rafflecopter over leaving individual comments for entries into the contest. it seems more legit, and Rafflecopter is definitely easier to use in terms of following a twitter user, pinning something, etc.
Colleen recently posted..Monday Music Break: Sound of the River
Hi Collenn, thanks for coming by and yes that is a great point that it seems more legit with Rafflecopter.
I have not hosted any giveaway on my blog but soon may be next month i am organizing a giveaway for computer freaks and i will use rafflecopter

Denise Gabbard recently posted..cheap desktop computers
Hi Denise, thanks! I didn’t know why I hadn’t done it sooner and I should be another soon for the holidays.
I’m a tad bit confused about this, lol
Is it just a tool for one to use to promote
their Etsy shop?? Example: The prizes
are your items to give away ?? That part
isn’t really clear. If that is the case, it seems
pretty easy to do. I wish the instructions were
a bit more clear (I’m new to Etsy, and am still
working on my items that I will be selling, so
just trying to get a grip on everything here, since
I haven’t sold anything in years YIKES!!
Any help is appreciated in advanced, thank you!!
It’s not just for an Etsy shop, it’s for any blog or website. Do you have a blog Miss Crysti? It could really help your Etsy shop. The blog would provide content and they could link to your shop. I hope that helps
