Page Rank For Your Facebook Pages – How To Find
Facebook Page Rank?
Somehow yesterday on Facebook I glanced up at the Page Rank tool on my Google Chrome bar and noticed it changed from Facebook’s rank of 9 to 3 on my page. I quickly checked a few others and noticed the changes from 0 to 8. Even your personal facebook page now has a Google ranking.
Log in and you will see a different page rank on the top right hand side.
What does this mean for SEO of our Facebook fan pages and will it give us more link juice to our websites and blogs? I checked a few other blogs and website Facebook pages and they all had different pagerank. Coke for example had a page rank of 6. Lady Gaga has a page rank of 8 on Facebook. Hot Blog Tips have a 4 ranking. From looking at various pages it appears it does not matter how many likes you have. It may be more about the engagement on the pages or the Facebook insights. Even the age of the pages did not seem to matter.
When I posted this up on Facebook last night some of you asked how to check the page rank on Facebook. I have made screen shots for finding it via Google Chrome browser. It is pretty simple to put this extension on your browser if you already do not have it. First go to your tools on the upper right hand side of your browser and click tools – when you click it you should see this.
After you click on settings you will look for the following extension: SEO Status Page Rank / Alexa Toolbar: Use the Get More Extensions button on the bottom of the page to search for them.
There may be other choices for you too like: SEO Quake, Web Rank SEO, Website SEO, Analysis and many more to choose from. You can install, play with them, uninstall and try another. Some can do more for you than others. Some work in other browsers better. Do you have a SEO extension on your browser that you like a lot better?
Do you think the Facebook Page Rank will make a difference with your website or blog?

Thanks for this Lisa. I haven’t used it but just installed the extension. I guess it does come in handy to check these things out eh?
I’ll have to look more into these page rankings, Alexa versus Google because I am clueless!

Yes, it can be just fun to see if your numbers change Brenda. You can check out others too while surfing the net.
Alexa can only show the ranking of a website domain, there is no Alexa on a page by page basis, which is why Pagerank has some value in showing the value of the page. Since Facebook wraps all links posted, not sure if any PR is passed from links posted on Facebook page to the actual target though.
Hi Justin, yes, I’ve been wondering about that passing on to the target from Facebook.
Never knew that Facebook page has a page rank. But as Justin said, PR juice is not going to pass as facebook has nofollow even on pages

Hi Naser, I think it’s new. I just noticed it yesterday.
I got a 3 – same as my homepage
But, does this matter? (I knew that we had a separate PR for our Twitter account, but never thought our fan page would have one too).
Maybe, in some time, advertisers might be approaching these peeps with high PR for their fan page to advertise or promote their product on Fan page.
Not sure if it matters Jeevan, we’ll have to see in the upcoming months ahead. That’s a good point about the advertisers too.
facebook pages has rel=”nofollow” tag so they are helpful in increasing page rank i know already about facebook pages PR. i use seoquake extension try it is much more better than mentioned one

Thanks Sahil. Thought it was interesting and must be new too.
Hi Lisa,
You are a quickie
You have posted about it on your fan page and now it’s all here in detail. I’m happy to see how PageRank goes with my blog and pages. But actually I remember something that Matt Cutts used to say – Don’t depend on numbers and don’t let it control how you work. People start to obsess with ranking and try to maximize, but ranking algorithms are changing over time. If we honest enough, it will come at us. For those, this would be a great SEO factor
Thanks for sharing this information and it’s new for me
You are always up-to-date Lisa…
Cheers…

Hello Lisa,
My Facebook page PR is 3.. But I think its not very important because till now I never heard anybody asking about how much PR your Facebook page have?

I hope you liked your rank Praveen. Thanks for commenting.
As I have learned about page rank it’s measured by how many people visit your site on a regular basis, stay there awhile and have the Alexa toolbar downloaded on their computer as well.
Since this is so new I’d have to say right now it’s no big deal. I have no idea what mine is but I’m sure I’ll get curious and have to check it out eventually. I did hear about this last week but just never went that extra step.
Thanks for sharing this Lisa. I have a feeling they have something up their sleeve for this.

Adrienne, when I saw your response a little light bulb went off – they are probably doing it for the advertisers. Charge more for pages with higher rank. Thanks for commenting and have a great Friday.
I still haven’t checked my Facebook page to see what my Page Rank is. But, this is interesting. On the other hand, I have no idea if it will have any effect on my blog. I don’t think you’ll get much link juice from Facebook, other than you can get massive traffic if you do it right

Yes, it’s a great tool Suresh. You can do a search on this blog and read more about Alexa and Google Pagerank too.
Thanks for this nice information! Even twitter profiles are getting high google page rank.
Thanks Mahesh for pointing that out and Pinterest pages too. Interesting indeed.
Nice vision to see that one, I also had noticed that page rank inside of Facebook, but will it really send link juice? If it will can I just use a site like Like4Like.org to get more likes to my page and then I will have a higher rank. So the links in my page pointing to my website will pass page rank to them?
Jason Brown recently posted..Craigslist Includes New Map Feature On For Sale And Service Posts Just Like on Real Estate Pages!
Jason I’m not sure I’m following you with like4like.org ? If you have a link on any .org site it would pass link juice to your site. If you Facebook page has a high rank it could also pass link juice to your site as well. Does that answer your question? Thanks for coming by and input on this post Jason.
