More Pinterest Like Websites to Browse
I was checking through some alternate images the other morning when I right clicked and saw “pin to MikeLike.” I had not heard of this one before and of course had to check out what it is all about. It looks just like Pinterest.
It is still in beta and you must sign up via email and wait for the invitation. Of course I did as I was curious. I learned it is available in 7 languages. You can use Pinterest and MikeLike for private pinterest boards. Yes, Private! It allows you to:
- pin to multiple services (Pinterest, MikeLike, Tumblr)
- pin background images
- additional features like URL shortening, site search, language translations, and more
A great example of a private board for users is this one example: He can share with just another friend or his mom or dad for advice on which one to buy:
Once you apply for the beta invite it doesn’t take long. I took a break on this post and when I came back hours later I had the invite in my inbox. Once I was on there it really looked and felt just like Pinterest. I don’t think I would use this website too often but it may be good for bloggers who collaborate on a blog together.
The other similar site that has been around longer than Pinterest is called
“The Fancy”
Of course I had been on that one from day one with retail sites named fancy in it. How could I have not joined it?
They consider themselves part blog, part store, part magazine and a wish list. They are headquartered in New York city. You can join anytime with their Join Now button on top of the site. This next screen shot shows how you can add to the Fancy with your favorite stuff.
You can browse throughout their site too.
Now The Fancy also gives you dollars if you invite others to it’s website and they join. Of course it is FREE to join.
Do you know any other websites that are similar to Pinterest besides these and Spark Rebel?

I have recently received an invite from Pinterest, but I have not been able to use it so far as I couldn’t locate the usage.. I mean How can it benefit my working or business??

PS you could pin images of pets from your blog.
Ooh! That ones sounds neat too! I’m on Pinterest, don’t use it much. I tried that other one, Spark or something, still no time for pinning action. I could sign up for this, and it would probably fall to the back burner like the others.

Oh what fun with all these new visual sites. I will be honest in saying that I still have not yet caught the Pinterest bug. lol I have browsed a few times, but usually wind up departing quickly to get back to other things. I must be the oddball around here. lol
I intend to spruce up on my Pinterest page because it’s quite desolate at the moment. Ah to only have a 2nd set of hands!

Hi Cat, I don’t always make it daily to Pinterest but probably every other day at least. Yes a second set of hands and another 24 hours in a day would surely help
Its time for pinterest to come up with some more feature additions to not loose its users. Anything can happen in this Internet Startup Era. Mikelike integrates itself perfectly with Pinterest and lets you create private pin boards and pin the contents you find on the web. If you like to throw a surprise party or plan something super secret, then Mikelike can be the best choice to choose

I started using MikeLike for private boards (which are great) but what surprised me was how well my public boards did – I found it was easier to get followers. Even though Pinterest is bigger, I now get more traffic from MikeLike.
Hey Lisa, I never heard of this and I will have to check it out. There are so many sites out there doing what they can to capitalize on Pinterest and some look great too. I love finding new stuff and thanks for sharing this Lisa!
