Loving the New WordPress 3.3.2 Updates!

Have you logged into your WordPress recently and noticed an update? I did notice it but I really loved it when it made it easier to embed a tweet yesterday! No plug-in or codes needed. Sweet!

WordPress Updates

Other new WordPress features include:

  • Easier Uploading – You can drag right from your desk top
  • Dashboard Design with Fly Out Menus and Toolbar Updates
  • Updated Help Tabs – Who can’t use more help?
  • Tumbler Importer – Import content right from Tumbler
  • Widget Improvements – I can’t wait to play around with these.
  • Flexible Permalinks -More flexibility when choosing a post permalink structure
  • More Navigation – Easier to find your way around
  • JQuery and JQuery UI – Includes the latest versions (Can someone tell me what this really means?)
  • Editor API Overhaul – Can support multiple editors on same page!
I’ve read it’s good to deactivate plug-ins prior to updating (after I updated of course)  - has anyone else heard of doing that?  Of course I would recommend backing up your site or blog prior to updating. That should be done any time you add a new post or make changes on your site. You can never back up enough.

Now it’s time to go play around and see what other bells and whistles are available on the latest WordPress update.

What did you find that you really liked on the latest WordPress update?

I just upgraded too. But to be honest I didn’t have much time (yet) to play around with it. As far as I can see, the changes are hidden ‘under the hood’. I’m running the suffusion theme on top of that, which sports about 2.3 quadrillion options too, so it will cost me some time to figure things out.
JQuery UI is an extension for JQuery, It’s designed to make kick-ass User Interfaces (UI) and widgets. Since my change – over to WordPress I’m having serious trouble finding time to work on my blog. lol

Well I could until today – then I had to add another simple plug-in. The button on the WordPress blog DISAPPEARED. Lots of changes. Lost my RSS here too but it’s live and working – need another plug-in to show it. :) Fun, Fun! Keeps us on our toes. I still like the changes though.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t really notice much of a change

I upgraded, but have not noticed the difference. I will have look for the jquery stuff … Thank for pointing out all the new features. I don’t think I would have found them on my own with out much exploring and I don’t have that kind of time anymore!

    Hey Lisa,

I haven’t updated yet. I’ve learned over time to not jump on it every time there is a new one so I decided to wait. Was going to do it last weekend but you probably know why I dropped the ball on that one. I’ll probably wait now until this weekend which is when I backup all my files and blogs.

Glad you are loving it so now I have something to look forward to. Yey!!!

Thanks for the scoop. I’m excited now.

Adrienne, you are very wise. I’ve had feedburner issues every since. So be careful. I havent gotten to the bottom of it yet. Everything else is good so far. Life would be boring if it always ran smoothly right?
