Do You Have A Learning Bucket List?
Learning Bucket List
Have you ever had a bucket list? I loved the movie The Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman even though I cry at the end of it each time I watch the movie. I think it’s great to have a bucket list for life so you can remember to fully live your life. My favorite quote from the movie is: “Have you found joy in your life? Has your life brought joy to others?”
I have found joy the past few years in learning. It really gets me going each day. I have had so many things that I have wanted to learn lately that I started a Learning Bucket List. I have accomplished learning some new things like learning how to embed tweets and how to use Slideshare but I need more things to learn and add to the list as each day goes by. It seems the more you learn the more you need to learn.
Here are some things on my Learning Bucket List:
- Learn How to Use Quick Books – Something on my list for a while to learn instead of using Excel spreadsheets to keep track of our online business.
- Write Better Headlines – I need to write better headlines for my blog posts to grab readers in.
- Learn More Plug-Ins – To use this WordPress self-hosted blog to the fullest.
- Learn Why Do People Buy – What are the reasons people buy from a particular store or website?
- Learn More HTML – How to make tables and columns within posts and web pages.
- Learn More on Twitter- Can you tweet to a list all at once? Seems like they should be a way to do that.
- Learn About Paper Li – Is it useful over on Twitter to start your own digital paper? Is it worth the time to set up?
- Learn About DropBox – I have an invitation in my email and not sure what I can do with it and what it can do for me.
- Learn How to Use the DVR – Not that I watch much TV lately but it would be nice to know.
- Learn to Make Images on Twitter – like The Readhead Riter who truly amazes me with images over on Twitter.

What would be on your Learning Bucket List? Feel free to point me to a place to learn any of the above in the comments.
”It was a Sunday in the afternoon and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. He was 81 years old. Even now, I can’t claim to understand the measure of a life, but I can tell you this: I know that when he died, his eyes were closed and his heart was open, and I’m pretty sure he was happy with his final resting place because he was buried on the mountain, and that was against the law. ” – From the movie, The Bucket List

The last few posts on the “ban the apple” thread got me thinking about things I still wanted to learn. I’m always trying to learn more about staying healthy and preventing illness, but there are some things that must be learned first hand. Specifically, I’ve wanted to learn about welding for years. I remember taking several of my telepohne construction trucks to a shop where the mechanic would stick weld supports, brackets and fix whatever got broken.

Great list Lisa! Learning only makes us that much smarter and ahead of the game. I have a bucket list of cars.
And I bet themes too? LOL. What types of cars?
Muscle cars, of course!
Mustangs of all years, I’ve had my Corvette, hunting for an ole school Challenger or Charger, had my 73 Firebird…..all pre 80′s left on my list!
GASP! I LOVE this idea! I love to learn and I have so much that I want to learn but just haven’t gotten around to it. I think if I made a real, clear, solid list that sits somewhere where I can see it everyday, then I’d be more inclined to actually move forward with my education.
I truly love the idea of a learning bucket list.

Also, I forgot to mention, I have a Paper.li for a couple of my twitter accounts and I think it can make people feel really special. Because you can set up a Paper.li to pull from specific keywords or twitter users or whatever, you can really specify how you want Paper.li to pull the info into the digital paper.
And then when it publishes and it says, “features stories by:” I know I always feel a little special when I see it and know that it makes others feel special as well, because their story was featured!
So it’s neat and really simply to set up. You only set up the perimeters once and then it’ll do all the rest of the work for you, including publishing.
Hope that was helpful!

I have been wondering about those Morgan, maybe when I get back from vacation I’ll investigate those out or maybe even before so I’ll have something working for me instead of me working it on vacation. Thanks for the tip Morgan!

I’m always learning Lisa and I don’t necessarily have a list of things I still want to learn, they just seem to come to me when I’m hit with something new that I believe will benefit me to learn how to do. Anything that can take my business to the next level, I’m in.
Great list and I did enjoy the movie too. Oh, and I also cried at the end. Who wouldn’t!
Happy learning young lady!

You are welcome Meka.
Hi Lisa,
I haven’t watched the movie, but it’s on my list of move I’m going to watch
I don’t have a visual bucket list, but I know that I’m doing my best to become a better writer and I want to learn how to take awesome pictures. I’ll be buying a camera sometime soon.

You must see that movie Jens! It is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it. Funny and touching. Do you have a camera on a smart phone? My Droid takes awesome pics. Quality pictures on sites are becoming more important than ever too. What kind of camera are you thinking of getting?
