How Do You Like To Follow Along?

Since I moved my blog I had to change my blog’s feed and it got me to thinking. How do you like to follow your favorite blogs or websites?

Follow

There are quite a few ways to follow along:

  • Feeds – You can follow along in RSS feeds which allow you many choices along with an email option so you don’t miss a post!

You can click this image and follow here

  • Bookmarking – You can bookmark the site in your browser – different browsers have different methods but they all do the same thing – some are called “favorites”
  • Social  - You can follow along on various social networking sites like Facebook Pages, Twitter, Google+ and many more social networking sites
  • Blogger – They have a blogger follow widget but it is now just for those on blogger – it doesn’t work with other types of blogs like WordPress. This image is of the one I had.

Another way is the Networked Blogs – where you sign into Facebook. Here you can vote for your favorite blogs by an up button and see their latest posts.

Another one I am starting to like is BlogFrog. It’s a community where you can have discussions with others on the BlogFrog.

What is your favorite way to follow your favorite blogs and or websites? Did I miss any good ones?

I am totally missing my Google Friend Connect. Very irritating imo

Brenda, me too!! I wish the blogroll on WordPress included the latest post.

I’m trying to find another way as I’m not to happy with Google Reader anymore. Any suggestions on a Reader? I’d rather use RSS than any other method.

Hi Brenda, I’m back. Still not 100%. Do you use Networked Blogs? I try to log in there every a.m. to see the latest updates on blogs I follow. I also subscribe via email to those I really like. I haven’t used many readers. I’ll try to research a few though.

I do link up on it but rarely do I check it. I think it’s the whole logging onto facebook and then going to NB. I haven’t found it easily readable on my phone either. Maybe I should look into it again. Thanks and get better soon!

I think most preferred option for followers is syndicating or distributing content on social networks  Personally, I’d love to being connected via social networks. It’s simple and easy to check out and get notifications. Directories such as Bloggers.com are much helpful in finding interesting blogs too. However still email subscribers are on top of all according to recent statistics. But loyal readers are always remain with their favorite blogs and follow till the end due to one factor ~ TRUST.

    Cheers…

Thanks Mayura, I agree – Tweet me! But I have signed up for a few email subscriptions since the switch. Not everyone tweets their latest post more than once or to you directly. Interesting about the email stats – I had read that and made I added it my feed.

  • Hi Lisa,
Since I don’t spend much time on social networking sites, I prefer to just subscribe and get notified of new blog posts in my email.
I’ve used Google Reader before but I can’t seem to find the time to read all of them
Surprising to know that email subscribers are still on top with the popularity of social networks but that’s a hint for us that email is still very much important.
    Have a nice day!

Great blog, Lisa! For me, following my Facebook feeds is my favorite way to keep posted on the blogs I follow. It’s quite efficient and I can search backwards and see what I’ve missed. Second best is by email, but I find it more time-consuming to sift through the clutter of unwanted emails.

    Hi Susan,
I haven’t followed any that way before but I’m not on Facebook that much – just in and out. I know what you mean about email – I have started a following a few that way since making the switch from blogger to WordPress. Blogger had a neat way of following in their format. Even those on WordPress you could follow.
