The Top 7 Social Tools to Cook Up Your Social Network

7 Great Social Tools

As 2011 is coming to a close I have been thinking of the best social tools I have used this past year that cooked up some great social network activity on various social channels.  If you haven’t used any of these great social tools start using them for 2012 and see your activity heat up!

social tools

1) Tweetcaster - I could not do as much as I do on Twitter if it were not for Tweetcaster.  The app is used for a smartphone. The best feature I like is when you receive a reply on Twitter and you are not sure what it is referencing to. It could have been a tweet from the day before or hours ago.  Tweetcaster has what they call a “Conversation”.  Absolutely love it! You can also have up to 4 accounts now on Tweetcaster. It used to be 3. I use it for all 4 that I manage.

2) Buffer App - This app sends out tweets for you spaced and timed out throughout a 24 hour period.  It also works now for Facebook too! The Buffer sends you a reminder email if you have no tweets left in the buffer. Who doesn’t need reminders! Great for when you cannot tweet all day. This one has become one of my favorite social tools.

3) Facebook Insights –  This feature has been updated on Facebook – of course right? What ever stays the same over on Facebook.  You can find a great amount of data for your Facebook page and what posts are causing the most activity for your page.  This helps you for your future posting and planning.

4) Triberr  - Another app that allows you to build a “tribe” and have others tweet out your new posts.  Another great way to reach more tweeps!  It also provides you data as to how many people are clicking to your posts from Triberr tweets. Nice!  I hope they can expand it to Facebook next year.

5) Twiends – This one I really started using recently. It’s great to generate more followers on Twitter with your interests and niches.  If there are some followers you don’t agree with you don’t have to follow them back. You can see an instant increase in followers with this. You don’t need to sign up – just log in via Twitter and it’s FREE.

6) Commun.it - Another nice way of making connections on Twitter and it gives you various information such as:  who is your most “engaged” tweeps, who are your “influencer” tweeps, etc.  It also gives you recommendations based on your own tweets. Sweet!

7) Stumble Upon – Stumble Upon is another social networking site that not many folks use compared to Facebook and Twitter.  But it generates more traffic than any of the other social networking sites! If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s a must for 2012.   Do give yourself time to learn this one as it is a little difficult at first but worth the effort.

What are some social tools that you can recommend for 2012 to spice up our social networks?

I so have to agree with you about StumbleUpon…I have one but it takes me for a loop every time I look at it but from your advice Imma take it slow and make it work. I use hootsuite which is good kinda like tweetcaster and I am def going to look into the others as well. Im going in on my blog and trust me I need all the tools I can get!

  • Lisa says:

I just signed up for Hootsuite too. I am trying to decide between that and Tweetdeck.

Hi Lisa, I'm a big fan of Buffer and I also use Timely. There is a new service called JustRetweet that is similar to Twiends but I like it better. Thanks for the tips.

Have a healthy and happy new year!

I 100% agree with you on StumbleUpon. Not enough people use it, and it's by far the best traffic generator.

I'm going to check out Twiends right now!

  • Lisa says:

Curt, I think you'll like it. Let me know.

  • RightInRi says:

HUGE fan of Tweetcaster Pro for my EVO. I love it! As for web tweeting, I find (since the Tweetdeck web update), Hootsuite works best for me. Seesmic comes in a close 2nd but no Twitlonger on it :( . I haven't really used the other apps. :) Great post!

  • Gems says:

Thanks for following my little blog "Just Breathe". I enjoyed the info you gave in this post and cannot wait until I can start using Twitter and Stumble Upon in better ways. At this point, I think I'm just clogging up space :) New Year – new resolve to use the technology we have to really push myself out there more!
    Happy New Year!

Hi Lisa. Great article. I have learnt that it's not all about the 'numbers' but more about 'content'. Being that the content of your blog, or the 'content' of your followers / friends. If you're looking for insights about what / where / how people find your site I would take a look at Google Analytics. Free and a huge amout of options, including campains, a real time visitors status and much, much more.

  • Lisa says:

Thanks Liz, Pinterest is one I want to learn too for 2012…

Thanks Vanita – Check it out and let me know.

Jan, I used to use Google Analytics a lot but they changed and got a little more complicated. Love to learn more how to use their stats and the A/B testing is another thing I want to learn for 2012.

  • Chris says:

I'll definitely add the other sites for my social marketing strategy.
